    Impressed? Why?
Whether he is right or wrong about Beyoncé? Perhaps we don’t need God to see that that is silly at best.

Again, he is not giving up anything. The Princess in the castle giving up her day job is not brave, nor impressive. It is simply her choice.

I can see I’m under your skin. Relax. It’s just opinions on CFs.

Well done opinions or medium rare? Trying to put it in terms you might understand. Personally, I prefer "nuggets" of information.

It might be helpful to frame this in context of the fact that we’re talking about 20-22 year olds. How many of us were able to make sound financial or career decisions at that point in life?

Most decisions are made with the best awareness we have at the time and there isn’t a whole lot at that age. I’m not going to fault the kid for doing what he thinks is best with his time, talent and treasure. The best that any of us can hope for is that we take measured risks, make mistakes, learn from them and grow into better versions of ourselves. Hope he figures it out and finds himself along the way.

Glad to see most of the posters on this thread are actually reasonable.

It's just wild to me. Because as a basketball player, you retire so young. Many are retired before they are even 30. He has the rest of his life to pursue ministry, but honestly, having a platform like the NBA makes getting your message out a lot easier. Just seems like a really weird decision and a decision I think he will come to regret. But listen, I didn't even really start a career until I was like 35 so I get being young and dumb.

It's not uncommon for athletes to actually have that epiphany that they are ready to step away from the game as they start to get mentally prepared for training camp. For a professional athlete, just working out and going through the motions on your own is straightforward enough, these guys are not going to just be laying on the couch playing COD unless you're Ben Simmons. But when it becomes real, when the traveling secretary is calling you to remind you that you need to put in a deposit for an apartment in the Rio Grande Valley this month, when you went from literally one of the best recruits in the country to getting your ass handed to you up and down the court in Vegas by guys who were hungrier and more driven, when you imagine Coach Udoka making an example of you in practice for the next 20 days, I can see why he came to that realization that it just isn't worth the money.

Honoring the previous deal likely made the Rockets be the first call the Hawks made when they were willing to move on. I really doubt that the Rockets were not aware of his mental state and the Hawks hid anything from them, Houston has been following Griffin since prior to the draft, and were clearly hoping to have a similar reclamation project to KPJ.

At the time of the transaction, I thought it was always going to be a longshot for him to make it. I think that if his heart truly wasn't in it, better that the Rockets got off his contract now, and freed up the roster spot.
