I could see a possible Silas connection here.

So Tilman paid $5.6M for the 52nd pick? He's a changed man.

We were hard capped and not good enough to compete... Cutting some salary is the right move to give us flexibility.

I really dont understand this boards desire to be hard capped.

    No.

He paid $4.6M to dump 12.8M of Ariza's salary and switch 1st rounders with Detroit.

Then spent $1M to buy a 2nd rounder

Saved well over $6M this year,

    Woo.

It is totally a good move (pending the 1st round pick protections?). But let's not pretend it is all a new spendy spendy attitude. Fits more with the reports of slashing payroll

Being hard capped is bad. It is just the constant bullcrap of "I am a big spender". The salary dumping by nusing p

Good move to dump salary and gain flexibility.

From the description, sounded a lot like a vastly more athletic Covington and Tucker hybrid but with similarly long developmental years or longer.. up to 4 to 5 years.

Yes but i think alot of people on here want us to spend just to spend and dont realize the ramifications of being hard capped and being a repeat tax payer for a team that wasnt good enough to win anyway... Ive been saying this at every deadline when we go under the tax and everyone freaks out that we didnt send a 2028 first round pick for some bench player that wouldnt have even cracked D'antonis lineup. If there is a real move to be made then do it but its really not worth being locked into this team just to do it.

Like people complain about not resigning PJ... Resigning PJ is dumb hell be 36 when his contract ends and well likely not be contenders past that even if James is here. My point is not every move to save money is about being cheap sometimes its about maintaining flexibility.

Don’t forget the 16th overall pick that was traded which 2.6 million guaranteed in savings. Which breaks down to 12.8 million plus 2.6 million which is 15.4 million saved subtract 5.6 million for the second rounders. So cheapskate saved roughly 10 million. Don’t be fooled you all claiming “look he spent 5.6 million on a second round pick”. No he didn’t. Lost talent wise in order for cheapskate to save 10 million. He is running this team into the ground. **** him
