I never cared for history when I was in school either... ...not until the Finals at least. And then I aced it. Just sayin....
They don’t care because they, other than GG, didn’t grow up rockets fans so they don’t have a rockets team pride. They have a group team pride, as in they love the members of the team they play with, as well as an individual self pride and goals of personal achievement. Many of them didn’t even know they’d be in Houston until less than a year ago. It is what it is.

Teams get cocky after winning so many games, in my opinion. They let down a bit because they think they can get away with it, consciously or subconsciously. You can't do that. Winning a championship is incredibly difficult. If it wasn't, everyone would have a trophy, multiple trophies. It ain't easy. Look how long we've waited to have a reasonable shot at another one, and most of the media thinks that we won't complete the job. So let's disappoint the media.
All the ass-clowns will say the regular season record didn't mean anything if we don't win it all. They will be all "I told you so". So, the team's attitude is the right one. I'm not sure how it reflects on D'Antoni to even care about it. He should be the one leading the way saying it's all about the playoffs. The team seems to be calling him on it. Wrong attitude, coach!
