Good news. For the quality of ball we've been playing so far this year, this has to be considered a success.
I'm surprised. I have intentionally ignored the standings because of how uninspired we have been playing. I don't think it is possible for us to get any worse, so this is good news. I don't think we will still be 8th at the end of the year unless we improve though.
Check out the schedule in January, The Rockets had their easiest month in December as far as games go, and the schedule gets tougher from now on. So while this is not too bad to have, the future troubles me... --Tiger
Unfortunately, I agree. And to add to that, much of our competition for that spot is playing poorly at this moment (Portland, Denver, Memphis etc). If we are at #8 at the end of January, then I will perhaps start to believe.
OUr schedule was pretty tough in Nov. So I think it is kinds of evening out. The best thing is that we have a winning record against the west. Last year our record against west was miserable. we creamed the East to get into the playoff.
We match up pretty good with San Antonio as well. And who wouldn't want to play Pheonix. I don't think being an 8 seed is all that bad given that we have a half court team with two great players. All we need is for the role players to get hot at the right time and we make the run.
it is a great news. but we obviously haven't taken advantage of easy december schedule. January will be a very tough test
Easy schedule or not, to me our record shows how AWESOME our dynamic duo are since they basically play 2-on-5 basketball night in and night out. I hope we (and more importantly, them two) don't lose sight of that amidst all this insanity. Good job!
Wolves lost to O'Neal, Artest, SJackson-less Pacers twice. The defending champion also lost some bottom feeders. Actually I think it's better than constantly beating weak teams and losing to contenders, e.g., old Mavs or Rockets last year. Sometimes **** happens. Move on.
We're getting creamed by contenders, though. To date, we have 3 victories over teams with a winning record. Considering one was against Sac in an early season slump, one was SA by divine intervention, and the other had LeBron gone for over half the game, I don't see how anyone can be encouraged. Evan
to me this is a sign because we are playing bad ball we're still number 8. I beleive this team will improve.
Haters and party poopers are loitering this thread. Please allow me to direct y'all back to thread that sits best with y'all.
Dunno what your problem is with the truth. Pointing out *both sides* (upside and downside) is just being fair. The Rockets are half a game closer to first place in the West (11 out) than last place in the West (11.5 up). Happy?
