So I missed the 4th quarter, watched the game replay at like 11:00 pm. It's crazy but RIGHT BEFORE that run, Bill said 2 things: "Someone like GOrdon or Ariza needs to get going on offense to help James and Paul" and, when the jazz had just scored to get to 91 points, "The rockets need a couple stops in a row here to give them a chance" Being as how I knew the outcome it was crazy to just be like "oooo you wait Bill, they hear you!"
Gordon doesn't get enough credit. His shooting is crucial every game. He is the third star. And what about Ariza? Steady Eddy!
Did you catch the part when Bill Worrell goes .... 33 POINTS BY ERIC GORDON! A NEW SEASON HIGH and it all comes here in the 4th. lol
Basically every season I've watched this team, a turnaround like this would have been a season highlight. With this club it was just another game. It's obviously not a good quality to have, but it is also probably the most clear sign of a super elite team. They can plod along and just decide at some point to go ahead and win.
So my computer died and I left my charger at work, so I went to bed upset with the Rockets down 87-79. Couldn't believe it when I saw the box score.
That was a great game to watch. With about 9 minutes left in the 4th I said out loud "they need to turn it on"... and by golly George I think they got the message.
went to this game w/ some buddies. had to stop screaming when Gordon made that 3rd 3, voice was goin out. our camaraderie showed at the end. look at the players excited about an and1 from PJ. Ariza was jumping up and down, yelling. Clint going nuts too. this group is just freaking ridiculous. we're on the same tier as GSW. we gotta get there, but we're up there with em. i have no doubt in my mind, if we need a steal or a block, we can get it against any team. also, we can make timely shots and cruise for 2-3 quarters and still beat good teams. it's been depressing in Houston w/ the economy going to hell, hurricane and all that. i'm glad we're ballin out in spite of all that's been going wrong.
Amen to that, I wholeheartedly agree because this team has more potential to make it extremely deep in the playoffs. How far though? I can't honestly wait to find out. This team isn't even hitting on all cylinders yet, I think post All-star break we're going to hit our stride
