We had a lot of close losses, and we were missing Tari, FVV, Dillon, Jabari for some stretches. And we still had to play Jalen. I'm a fan. I will always be overly optimistic!
doesn't matter. some of them are back and even Jalen has played better and they still lose. folks can keep citing who's missing or whatever but at the end of the day the results remain the same
Sorry. I love your enthusiasm, but there's no way in hell this team is going 21-11 the rest of the way. We have 18 of our remaining 32 games on the road and we are literally the second worst road team in the league. Realistically, I think we'll go 12-20 from here on out. That gives us 35 wins and puts us ahead of schedule on the rebuild. It won't feel like it now, but that would be a key season once we look back at it from our title in 2028.
As a fan, I want all Rockets players to do well, including Jalen. But when you look at his advanced stats, it's unfortunately hard to deny that he has been a negative on both sides of the ball.
The problem is whose ahead of us. Lakers and Warriors and Utah are all more experienced teams. If they remain healthy I can't see them dropping. Yeah the Rockets should try to win every game, I mean our pick is tied to Brooklyn so no reason in tanking any ways, but we shouldn't give up any assets to get marginally better. I agree the Rockets still CAN make the play-in, they are one loss behind the 10 spot, its possible...but I don't think it's likely. The road record is disgusting and our young players are not just consistently there yet but we've seen a ton of flashes.
Heat did it twice with Wade also...Once they won 25 games and then within 3 years they won the title...The next time was 15 games and then they got bosh and bron and won a title... We probably aren't going to get a Shaq and Gary Payton or Bron and Bosh to join our Wade though... That said, if the Rockets are going to win a ring it will most likely be after trading for or signing a star player or high level role player. I know we love all the young guys but odds are only two or three max would be around when the Rockets won a ring.
