How about this, that Rockets team that won 22 games was way OVERACHIEVING versus the current Miami Heat team that has 2 CURRENT franchise (building) players that's been playing for the entire win streak. A lot of players stepped up to help us win that many games in a row.

 

come on, although the streak was freaky impressive, it was well known that our schedule was prob one of the easiest in the history of NBA. This Miami team is better than us, and our team showed a hell lot of hearts.

I'm glad the Rockets gave him a tribute video.

He falls in with the Rockets legacy of hard working players like Otis Thorpe, Chuck Hayes, Larry Smith. etc

 

Shane Battier never pointed out Miami's players salary.
He just talked about play and teamwork. He doesn't have a pattern of talking about playing with other people than his own current team.

i understood his statements.

he talked about the team and how they overcame adversity and injury during the streak.

then he drops some jealousy by mentioning they have 3 players who make large salaries as a reason to cheapen their streak.

 

And everyone agrees that the streak was special because we were underdogs. I don't get how you can bash him anyhow based on the statements. Battier said the same thing about underdog status, just without mentioning the 3 max guys situation.
