Teams presumably interested in Asik: Portland New Orleans Boston Portland is the most obvious trade partner.
If they are unwilling to give up on Aldrige, the deal is dead in the water. Surprised that you didn't know that Lopez can not be traded until Dec 15.
There is no indication that Portland wants him. They`ve traded for Lopez, they`ve got Aldridge. There is even an insider on here that stated, that Portland has no interest what so ever in Asik. Boston is rebuilding. They want young guys and a high draft pick. I don`t know if they want Asik. You´ve got to look at playoff teams, and teams on the bubble that don`t have a real center or that are not satisfied with theirs.
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen 21h Lots of NBA roster moves today. Other than Troy Daniels, Rockets will wait until Monday. Contracts guaranteed anyway.
http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=245546 From the sound of what we hear here, it sounds like Morey is going after Aldridge, but Portland is being a tough customer. If they were interested in Asik I would have to believe that the deal would have already been done. While Asik is still relatively young, I would have to believe that he appeals more to teams that want to win now or sometime in the near future. If Portland gives up on this year and decides to trade LMA, I would have to believe that they are gonna want to go young and bad for the 2nd half of the season.
Are we sure that Robin Lopez cannot be traded until 12/15? I thought this only applies to players who were signed as free agents, not players who were acquired by trade.
I don't believe Portland is not interested in trading Lopez plus a first rounder for Asik. I think it's a given that Portland is not interested in trading Lamarcus Aldridge for an Asik-centered package. These are two different things. Portland wants to give Aldridge reasons to stick around because they stupidly believe that you can build a playoff contender around Aldridge. Adding Asik sends the right message to Aldridge (i.e., "We're seriously trying to put together a contender!").

It's stuff like this that always confuses me. Just signed and already waived Why sign them in the first place? Is it just to feed players to the Vipers?
Presumably doing so will make Daniels unavailable to the D-League draft, and management can feed him to the Vipers' roster directly.
its a cold blooded boss move. when u were a kid and got bullied, now ur rich and ur doing the bullying. their lives are at the palm of yoru hands. thats why i say, get rich or die tryin. someone else said it but w/e but i will reiterate, it makes the most sense to cut daniles, williams and covington.
You obviously have no clue how this works, and you might be drunk right now. Daniels knew he was signing with the Rockets only to have his rights held so he could play with the Vipers. The NBA allows 3 players to be waived and have their rights held for the D-league affiliate. Young and Henriquez were the first two, and they had the ability to bring in one more for this same purpose. So why would a D-League bound player agree to this???... because why not. You are able to forgo the D-League draft and sign with the team that YOU WANT TO. Also I'm taking it that they will get at least one extra paycheck for the month they were signed with the NBA team which at the NBA scale not the D-league scale... although Im just making assumptions here, but its a pretty good guess that there is a few bucks to be made doing this. Still feel bad about this??? He knew he was getting waived before he ever signed in Houston.
Waivers..... Miami, Chicago, etc. would probably pick him up in a heartbeat. Only way they can possibly bring him back is if he retires... even then, Im pretty sure the NBA front office might be able to get the Rockets for circumventing the CBA.
whoa, talk about taking a joke too seriously cmon man its saturday u cant be this stressed out over a post like that. smoke some, drink some, thats what its there for
Thank you for the explanation. I'm a nub when it comes to how the D-League works. I wasn't aware they had a draft process. I watched a few games on youtube but never really thought how they got all their players.
Rockets will waive center Marcus Camby on Monday, source said. Camby has been unable to come back so far from torn plantar fascia tissue. - Feigen
