Maybe because it's a game that would include Yao Ming, Steve Francis, Kevin Garnett, Latrell Spreewell, and Sam Cassell? Just taking a wild stab in the dark...

We're pulling the Polish audience, thanks to Piatkowski. The Polish/Slovenian connection of Snackbar and Pike definitely was the driving force behind our 22 National TV games.

How many Nat. tele. games for the Suns? They beat us out of the playoffs by one game, and they have the ROY. I wonder how they feel knowing that we probably have more games than they do?

No way, it definitely has to do with Yao.

The whole population Polish/Slovenian combined may be just twenty or thirty million at most. Not to mention not all of people there are interested in basketball and watch the game.

But in China, you are talking about at least a hundred million audiences watching Yao's game.

Last year there were only several Rox games aired nationwide because they were unsure the TV rating. But after the rating of Yao-Shaq One hit second all time high record as a bball game, it is no doubt they will carry more this year. But I don’t expect they increase this much either
    :p :p

    Ouch. Captain comedown.

Look at their games in April. For this team, I think that is the most important games.

I could see us going 5-4

Will this affect any possible deals? I remember Cuban whining a while back that teams on nationally televised games should be compensated because they lose money on them. This could bankrupt Les!

I definately would like to go to that rockets-lakers game on Dec 25 at the new Toyota Center. Any ideas when the tickets will go on sale?

Only about 12 games aired are at home, so I think it won't hurt attendance that much.

And more nationally televised usually means more fame, sponsors and endorsement, am I right? Otherwise the most profitable organization should be Nuggets or Grizzlies instead of Lakers.

I love that Gundy's return to the Garden is nationally televised. (I guess this is a showdown between "the Garden and the Garage.")

This tells me that the league thinks the Rockets have many compelling storylines, not just Yao. Let's hope we do a little better against the Knicks this year. (Last year I went to both games. In Houston and in New York. In Houston I nearly vomited--that was the sixty point stinker--and in New York I nearly got in a brawl. Sorry. Off-topic).

I like that schedule, it allows the Rockets to come together while geting off to a fast start as long as they take care of business.

I'm Just as excited about this national exposure stuff as anyone.
But common STRAD Pike probably had little to do with the decision
making. The NBA probably finished the scheduling of the games
way before PIKE even considered about joining the ROX.

We all know who the man is in HOUSTON and its not Piatkie.
