Well, i wouldn't be against this approach at this point if it means to keep more flexibility, i like that too lol. But Morey tried to get him last summer, and for a very similar deal (if not a bit more, can't remember exactly now)...i don't think it was just to have more chances to get Horford, i think the Rockets saw something they like in him, and i kinda understand that, i mean, he plays good defense and can guard 3 spots, long arms, can run the floor, he can shoot, high energy guy...yeah, he didn't play well this last season, but the Hawks overall were just a meh team...the fact that they lost Horford and signed Dwight also didn't help, that's probably a big reason why their ball movement (which was top 3 in the league) suddenly died (and there were various reports about how Dwight presence on the court alone was making other players shoot worse).
Is Capela really an asset for the Pacers though? Capela will be coming off his rookie contract and will become a restricted FA after next season. He will most likely command a near max salary (similar to Nerlens Noel). Signing somebody like Capela to a near max contract is pretty much a guaranteed ticket to getting stuck in mediocrity for any rebuilding team. Also similar to Nerlens Noel situation due to the impending RFA status, Capela is not worth much in the trade market.
Then by all means, everyone should just let the kid throw his career away and stop offering anything for him.
This is good for us......Celtics is our only real competition for PG. He's probably just trying to scare off Ainge on pulling that trigger.
I think you mean the Lakers. From reports Randle/Clarkson/recent draft picks is still on the table. We can't beat that offer. He's trying to force his way to the Lakers now.
If that's the case, fine, but if he really thinks that being "the guy" on a scrub Lakers team is preferable to being on a contender, he's not the kind of player I'd want on the Rockets. Melo made that kind of decision in New York and is now hoping he gets bought out so that he can get out of that situation.
I don't think the Lakers pull that trigger as well if George is publicly saying that he's going there next year anyway.
True, but it will still sting to lose him for nothing after next season. Hope a future trade involves Ryno as the centerpiece.
Jeff Goodman: Asking price too high right now for Ainge. Windhorst: Houston's will have plans B, C, D, E, F & G lined up. League is waiting on Hayward. If Hayward goes to Boston, it changes their offer to Indiana. Indiana, realizing it's in a weak position will let that play out & see if they can get the biggest offer, which they think will come from Boston. If Hayward goes elsewhere, it opens things up for other teams. Daryl Morey is out here in LA, meeting with FAs in case George doesn't come through. Ramona: Lakers are just watching. They're saving their cap space. They'll do one year deals or two year deals with options.
Get Reddick and trade Gordan & Ryan for Melo. PG is a lost cause and we can't let melo go to cavs if we want to win. And Melo might bring more stars in years to come
Seems like we can consider a fact that Indy is waiting for Boston to eventually get Hayward at this point, i just hope we don't miss out on Millsap to wait Hayward, Boston and all their ****...even though, on paper we have the salary to get both George and Millsap so, it shouldn't really be a problem, we can pursue Millsap regardless.
PG threw his teammate under the bus in the playoffs for taking the last shot. Don't think he'd be willing to sacrifice....
Media has been reporting that Magic wants the deal to happen now rather than waiting a year. I guess it really comes down to what the Pacers will accept in return.
Why reddick and Gordon are basically the same player except a little older and not prone to injury every season. And we get to the next level
In some ways Redick fits a bit better with the team because he's a better 3 point shooter. Given that the Rockets have Harden and CP3, there's no need for ball handling from the position.
