The Cavs are a horrible fit for Love. The Rockets (at least this version) is a much better fit. Not to mention Love is a better 3pt shooter than Milsap, a better rebounder, and will probably cost less. Not to mention they'll be getting rid of Anderson's contract at the same time. If you sign Milsap outright, they're going to have to convince someone to take on Anderson.
u can do a S&T for Millsap Millsap is the better defender on the interior and on switches, and he can give u a reliable 17-18 ppg Love gets abused against GS, he is not what we need Millsap can actually matchup with Draymond
Honestly I'd just move on from Paul George. The more I look into him the more he sounds like melo. Desperately wants to be in la regardless of winning and on the court wants to dominate the ball and be the man. Would rather pursue other avenues even if that just means maxing out depth
I don't have any ill will against Paul George. I can understand him wanting that for his own reasons. I can still root against them though. Adding on the fact of the potential that he could have playing with Paul and Harden.
Pacers are doing the smart thing. Fans are always fickle and impatient. Imagine if this was Morey. This board would cry murder if he traded a player of that calibre without a massive haul in return or without at least asking for one. Pritchard is doing his due diligence to see what happens in free agency and which teams are willing to up the ante. I know we would all love to land George in Houston, but the idea that Pacers should just hurry and grab the low hanging fruit is terribly lame. Sounds like some salty lowball offer attempt on craigslist and we all hate that so let's try to be objective here.
Rockets don't even have the assets to poach George, who is on expiring and intends to leave, therefore they are definitely not poaching Turner. Forget about it.
if George is that desperate to go to the Lakers then we might as well move on all attention should be turned towards Paul Millsap...he is our counter to Draymond Green Morey has to find a way to get him to accept 24-25 mil/yr tho...it's a sizeable paycut, but the max is just ridiculous for him and we have the advantage of no state tax this would be the best team he has ever played on by far CP3 Harden Ariza Millsap Capela Millsap averaged 18, 8, and 4 this past season and was 6th at his position in DRPM
I agree, and i don't think the salary would be a problem, seems like various reports are saying that he wants to win and he's probably going to get something around 25x...the biggest problem here might very well be Atlanta refusing to get back Anderson without assets next to him. I also like the idea of larsv to take back Bazemore with the ng contracts we have in a side trade to take away his salary from them. Bazemore unlike Hayward (lol) is actually more similar to a younger Ariza and may play well for us. SG/SF, can shoot, runs the floor well, high energy guy and would fit well next to both Paul and Harden since he can guard point guards, shooting guards and small forwards.
yeah, the biggest obstacle would be them agreeing to take on Ryno I wouldn't want Bazemore here. He still has 3 years left on his deal which will have him making 17, 18, and 19 mil. His contract would be hard to get rid of and he'd limit our flexibility. I wouldn't want to get rid of Ryno's contract just to add his to our books.
Yeah, not saying we should go after Bazemore, just that if Atlanta would ask to take him to complete the deal (and they would take Anderson), it may be worth it overall, i think he would probably fit well here, we would lose some cap flexibility but yeah, it's basically what we did by getting Anderson 12 months ago.
gotcha I think I'd rather give them a future protected 1st to take Ryno if that could get it done...Bazemore's contract, man but in any case, Millsap should be our #1 target if PG is this focused on his brand and being the man, dude doesn't seem to be serious about winning...it would be a blessing to get him, but it just seems too unlikely at this point
Bazemore just doesn't look like a Morey "get" to me. I was looking at his stats and wasn't that impressed, although he has decent D and hits the corner 3 at a 40% clip, but thought that he wouldn't be a bad pickup if he helped Morey improve the roster as part of a larger deal, while adding some depth. Then I looked up his contract. Wow! Can't believe Atlanta gave him that deal a year ago. Did their "management" (did they have any??) lose their freakin' minds? And I thought Ryan's deal was crazy when we first signed him. Bazemore's deal makes Anderson's look pretty good. I'll pass.
It would be foolish of the Pacers to pass on an offer that includes Jarrod Utoff. His stock might go up in a few weeks and might not be available anymore.
