Even if George was in Houston, he's not really a Free Agent. The only way he could make a trade to be in our favor is if he were to leak that he would sign an extension with us or something. Otherwise, it's all in Indiana's court as to where he actually ends up.
Zeller contract becomes guaranteed after the 2nd July though, isn't that enough time to know if Hayward, Griffin or whoever they are going after is willing to sign with them?
I doubt that Hayward will make his decision on the first day since he has like 3 team meetings planned. But who knows. Maybe if the George deal is already put in order he will sign straight up.
Yeah, unless Hayward has already decided and this is a charade for him, I don't think he's signing by July 2nd. Most of the guys that are actually exploring options will sign after the July 4th vacation. Who knows though.
