Right and the whole reason to do this is to get another 1st Rounder to send out to Indy for Paul George. Otherwise, you both are correct, there isn't a reason to do such trade.
In the end we've also to be realistic...Ainge can basically pick two assets between: Tatum Brown Crowder Bradley Smart 2018 Nets 1st 2018 Sixers/Kings pick And beat every offer we can make...we're probably lucky to be still in play (if we actually are) cause he loves his assets, with another gm involved George would've been gone already.
Ainge probably doesn't want to pay Bradley and Smart next summer so moving those guys also increases flexibility IF they get George and he bolts next summer. Ainge is gonna Ainge
We're at the point in the draft where Patrick Beverley trades start making sense (with that pick being flipped to Indiana).
It's the rental factor. No guarantee he stays. He could get another star or deal for a Westbrook, KP, anyone else who comes available maybe...
Yep, and they need a big man too, that's actually why i think they should go all in for Porzingis... ...and why i'm actually scared they might trade for both Porzingis and George...the scary thing is that they would still have enough cap space to go after Hayward if i'm not wrong.
Paul Jorge y u not for to make want to get trade for to make champeenshit wife de rockits? We make good for to trade all the men 4 u but you not want? Make good assets for to make trade? Lmk thx
I think he fell in love with the thought of PG coming to celtics but in the end he thought about all his assets he has and doesn't want to lose them. He's probably going to give up on the trade and with Stevens as the coach I believe they feel confident in getting hayward
It won't happen because Phil Jackson is crazy with his demands. Otherwise, Porzingis would have been gone already. Getting PG13 AND Hayward wouldn't be a bad fallback plan either.
Follow K.C. Johnson ✔@KCJHoop In Bulls talks with Celtics regarding Butler, Celtics refused to offer No. 3 or next year's Nets pick, per source. The only other assets they have that put Houston out of reach are Jaylen Brown and the Lakers pick.
