if we were to measure each rockets trade value...what will your list look like? 1) Yao Ming 2)Steve Francis 3)Cuttino 4)Rice(CONTRACT reasons) 5)Eddie Griffin 6)Taylor 7)Cato 8)Moochie Norris 9)Malick Badiane 10)Terence Morris 11)Bostjan Nachbar 12)Jason Collier I think most people don't think ming should be ahead of francis...but ming has a bigger market plus he's one of just a few centers who can play!!!
Terence Morris and Jason Collier are no longer Rockets so they have zero trade value for the Rockets.
1) Yao 2) SF 3) Mobley 4) Rice 5) Eddie 6) Cato (come on, Rasho Nesterovic signed a huge contract too...) 7) MoT 8) Bostjan Nachbar (teams still like "potential") 9) Badiane (not higher than Nachbar simply because the draft just happened; they passed on him for their own reasons, we'll see if they pan out) 10) Moochie (HE IS THE MOST UNTRADEABLE, UNDESIRABLE PIECE OF SH*T EVER!!!* ) *although I hope he proves me wrong this coming season...we need all the help we can get!!!
I will do trade values based on both ability and in the case of Rice, the length of their contract. 1. Yao $20.00 2. Franchise $15.00 3. Cat $10.00 4. Glen Rice $5.00 (contract expiring soon)/ .01 (ability) 5. Cato $5.00 6. Eddie Griffin $3.00 7. Mo Taylor $2.00 8. Boki .25 9. Badiane .10 10. Moochie .02
Moochie is by far not the worst player(trade value) on the rockets Tmorris is far from a everyday backup player...and Nachbar is far from a "good potential" he is on a thin thread!!!
Cato is higher than Taylor. Moochie has negative trade value, i.e. you have to GIVE people something to take him and his fat contract.
1. Yao-98...(second only to duncan....lebron right here too.) 2. Steve-80...(max deal makes him harder to move) 3. Cat-60...(great contract, quality scorer) 4. Eddie-45...(still high upside seen by GM's) 5. Rice-40...(contract+scorer....well, whatever) 6. Mo Taylor-33...(contract counts against him some) 7. Cato-31...(despite contract still a banger big man) 8. Boki-30...(potential) 9. Badiane-15...(maybe in a year worth a future 1st) 10.Mooch-5...(can only be dealt in a muliti-player deal- he sucks) I think this is fairly accurate....welcome any comments though.
THERE IS NO WAY YAO MING IS WORTH DUNCAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Duncan is one of the top players in the league.....up there with (shaq - kobe - Mcgrady - Iverson - Garnett)...... SORRY his trade value is not that high yet!!! give Ming atleast 3-4 years before anyone will trade Ming for Duncan!.. ..until then he has the highest trade value among the Rockets but not in the entire league
anybody who thinks Moochie Norris isn't the most untradeable player in the league is either out of their minds or didn't watch any Rockets games last year. He should be making And1 tapes with "Hotsauce", not backing up the franchise.
Screw backing up hotsauce, he should be behind hot sauce, syck wid it, shane the dribbling machine, skip to my lou...basically, what i'm trying to say is: tie him to a rope behind the And1 tour bus and drag him around. That's only thing he deserves to be backing up! (I really don't hate moochie that much guys! Don't kill me!)
I didn't say anything about ''backing up hotsauce", I was talking about backing up Steve Francis... and by the way- that And 1 Tour is an absolute joke. I hope that streetball won't be reflect on our national team some day- oh wait... what place did we finish last summer??
I like the way you did it on a 100 point scale. However I am adjusting things a little bit--for instance it would take at least two 50 (e.g., Sheed + Wells) point players to make one 100 point player (KG, Kobe). 1. Yao 95 [top 5 prospect and cheap for what he already can do] 2. Steve 85 [still a young top 15 player] 3. Cat 40 [great value] 4. Eddie 35 [so young his potential is still high even if he has been dissappointing] 5. Rice 30 6. Cato 15 [only this high because centers with some defensive presence are scarce] 7. Boki 10 [a little bonus in a trade not much else] 8. Mo Taylor 10 [his contract makes him worth not much, though some EC teams desperate for a good offensive 4 could be willing] 9. Badiane 7 [ditto with Boki but a lower pick] 10.Mooch -5 : [his contract makes him a slight negative (not a huge negative -30 or so like Shandon Anderson for instance), where you have to give a little more for the other team to take Mooch, but he is usefull for trade filler and would not be too bad for a team in strong need for back-up PG like the Heat.]
1) Yao Ming..80 Shaq...100 2)Steve Francis..78...(still has to come up with HUGE season) 3)Cuttino...58...(ball hog title will not escape him) 4)Rice(CONTRACT reasons)...50... 5)Eddie Griffin...40....still might be a D stud 6)Taylor....35....don't ever know his potential 7)Cato...30....D 8)Moochie Norris...20....YES his contract is bad but still a decent backup 9)Malick Badiane....10...RAW and 3-4 years away 10)Terence Morris....10...will always be a bench player 11)Bostjan Nachbar....10...don't know if he has what it takes
wizardball, You have to consider the player's contract and his age, not just his talent, into his trade value. That's why Yao is very high because he is only making 4 mil a year, as opposed to Duncan's max contract. And Shaq's trade value is not 100 because he is old and he is expensive.
