Here's a good quote from the bleacher report. There website is blocked as you can see: http://*******************/articles/348213-ten-surprises-from-the-nba-trade-deadline
Just finished watching the presser. Didn't see anything Morey said that wouldn't be completely obvious to the rest of the GM's in the league. No worries on that front. Good to see him answer questions for 20 minutes, which is unusual, isn't it? Left with a great feeling of knowing the Rockets are in good hands, that we have one of the very best, possibly becoming the best, GM's in the NBA, an owner who is obviously spending money, his money, to give Morey the ability to find targets that will help the Rockets, through free agency, through the draft, through trades, who is, as of now, making everyone who said he "broke his promise to go over the luxury tax to improve the team" eat their words. How can we not be happy? If you are a fan of Luis Scola and Kyle Lowry, how can you not be happy? If you've been wanting an honest to god shooting guard who can fill it up with the best, who can go off for 40 on any given night, how can you not be happy? If you are a fan who's been wanting a big 4 with real potential, on a great contract, how can you not be happy? If you've been wanting some length on the bench, how can you not be happy? If you've wanted the Rockets to have a real chance in the draft to select grade A talent, how can you not be happy? Did we pay a high price in Carl Landry? Yes. No question about it. Carl took a giant step forward this season, but that also allowed this trade of occur. Carl Landry blew up and made this all happen. I'll always be a fan of his, unless he's playing a game against the Rockets. Then, for a night, all bets are off. I'm a happy, longtime fan of the Rockets, who would be looking to buy season tickets for next year if I lived in Houston, instead of Austin. We have an incredible future ahead for our team and the city of Houston. Hell, I'm going to pop open a brew. Who's with me?
Have a question for whoever watches channel 13 Sports, I was talking to my cousin who lives out of state and thought Morey said something like we'll try to get Landry back next yr. Did anyone hear that or I am a little loco? Thanks for any info.
Great post! Thank you. The future of the Rockets look indeed very bright. I have to eat some crow for saying that Morey waited too long. I will make amends to Morey by making a donation to the tip jar.
I wonder if All State does the Rockets' insurance, because they certainly are in "good hands." As good as all our players are now and as much potential as the young ones have, any more moves will only make the team better. Wow, I remember those long days of Charlie Ward and Ryan Bowen. Starting.
The other side of the CD era.... All of those "Morey can't make the big trade" people sure look silly.
You DO look happy, Deck! Happy and Content. Me too! And just leave the beer out back, I'll get it later!
