Probably Mobley. I couldn't stand him the first couple of seasons. He grew on me though. He was very, very good and what he did - score and hassle perimeter players.
Kelvin Cato - hated the "huge" contract he signed based of being a preseason monster, and never repeated those results. Now, I am sorry to see him go, and I wanted a trade where we got to keep Cat and Cato.
I thought Harold Minor was going to be good as well. But, I wasn't at all upset about the Horry pick. On a side note, Harold Minor beat Clarence Weatherspoon out for first place in the slam dunk contest in 1993. As far as flip flops go, Rockets trade away Moses Malone and end up getting Ralph and Akeem as a result. Looks nice with hindsight.
Clarence Weatherspoon was in a dunk contest?? And to think that 10 years later, he can't even dunk anymore!! heh
I hated Magic running up and down the floor just ruining the opposing team on the break especially when that team was Boston or Houston. Now I think he was great. I could not stand Barkley when he was with the Suns, even hated the trade for him. Then I loved him after he threw Shaq down. Pippen is the obvious love-hate.
I was there too and remember the chorus of boos that followed the selection. Horry even got booed in his first game. Needless to say, that all changed. My FlipFlop: I was actually excited when word of the pending deal for Damon Stoudemire broke and very disappointed when the deal fell apart.
JVG: "I have no reason to trade Steve." SF: "I won't play for Orlando." Chuckles: "Who the %@$# is Chuckie Brown?"
