Rockband 2

The drum set that I posted about earlier is an electronic drum set rigged to work with Rock Band.

 

A cool $300 too.

Are any of you guys gonna get Guitar Hero World Tour? The ability to create music seems like a cool feature.

 

picked it up last night....transferring dl'ed songs is free you have to pay (not sure how much) but you can rip the songs off the original RB disc and then transfer those over as well.

I am loving RB2 so far unlocked a lot of great songs!

anyone figured out how to get the songs from RB1 onto RB2 yet?

 

if they are songs that you downloaded then those just transfer over since they are on your hard drive already.


if you want to get the original songs that came with rockband then you have to put in the original rockband game...download the new update for the game and there is a song export choice under options i believe and the game will then rip the information off the cd and store it to your hard drive. You will be require to input a key to do so, the key costs 5 bucks (400 xbl points) to do so. I figure after since they are on the hard drive RB2 will notice them right away.

Oh but there are 3 songs that will not rip and transfer over because of re-licensing issues i think they are enter sandman, paranoid and run to the hills. so its a total of 55 songs that transfer over if you do that


that would be 84 +55 + 20 (future free downloads) which would give you 159 songs if you havent dl'ed a single song which is awesome (of course if you pay the 5 bucks to transfer the original RB songs over)


and then if you are a total loser like me who has downloaded like an additional 50+ songs then you're set for a while

but i havent transfered RB1 songs over yet thats just what it said in the manual of RB2

 

are rockband and rock band 2 the only rock band disks available for ps2?

 

Well The_Yoyo I guess that would make me a bigger loser because I have downloaded over 120 RB songs.lol After importing the ones from RB1 out of the box I will have close to 250 songs.

 

so after going to Katy Mills and finding it nowhere in stock there, and talking to a cute Circuit City Employee chick there, and going across the street and finding TONS of copies at Walmart, and playing it after 3 hours straight with my cousin, I can say

THIS GAME FREAKING ROCKS!!!!

I forgot the Modest Mouse song, and having the Kansas song on there is flipping sweet. I cheated and just used the unlock code and the "No Fail" mode helps newbies like me singing songs I've never heard, or playing the drum abysmally. THe song list is solid and can't wait to d/l more, specifically the Foo Fighters album and No Doubt greatest hits when they released them. I had fun playing "Hands Down" by Dashboard Confessional after d/ling the "Rock Band Tour 2008" pack.

Highly recommend, you'll be staying up for nights after getting this.

 

I'm just going to wait for the complete set to come out with the guitar and drums. Looking forward to it though. Also looking forward to the new Guitar Hero because they have a few Tool songs.

 

yea, I'm getting World Tour also, probably just get the game and buy the drums since you can play both RB and World Tour with there's and its a better drums that RB's.

 

I picked up the new guitar and it's great. I know some people hate the Rock Band guitar compared to the GH ones (I never played GH but tried the guitar, it was too small for me), but if you like the RB guitar the new one is 100x better. Absolutely incredible.

 

thinking about getting one i broke the whammy bar on my original RB guitar but i can wait on it


unless i find the drums cheap i'll pass no one at my place plays drums that often anyway cuz we all suck at them

 

Anybody want to play online drop me a line over Live. Gunslinger57. I've only got a guitar unfortunately, so I'm kind of limited as to what I can do, but I like to consider myself at least decent at it. Currently working through the challenges on Expert. they're pretty fun, but the 9 song sets are annoying, especially when you've played some of the songs before (Modest Mouse, I'm looking at you).

 

Is the strum bar better on the new guitars? After about awhile the old ones seem to wear and loosen up. lol
