Yeah, 'indie' is so much better. At least that's what the critics tell me.

I like all kinds of music. I love old RHCP and Queen and The White Stripes, and although I never really got into Guns n Roses, I'd still pay to see them live but come on man. The Darkness. Carbon-copy riffs, hellishly annoying vox. They're hands-down one of tthe most obnoxious bands ever, and basically everything off permission to land sucks. Believe me, I've listened to it a lot, I was obsessed with "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" in my early teens...

I think The Darkness is funny. I like them. They aren't creating masterpieces, nor are they trying to. I don't believe I would ever buy an album of theirs, they aren't Rock geniuses. But they are better than more than half the crap on the radio today.

Even in their derivitve nature they have carved their own nitch and have their own original take on it. I think they don't take themselves all that seriously, and I don't think anyone else should either.

Watch out. I said the exact same thing about Creed and now I've got idiots responding to all my posts with Scott Stapp remarks.

You could very well wind up with people jocking Justin Hawkins when you post.

Of course, if you have to compare the two, it's pretty fair to say Creed was much better than The Darkness based on the atrocious spectacle I saw yesterday.
