Robin will be in phoenix as long as he is on his rookie scale deal after that I dont think Sarver will match any deal unless its really reasonable. He is already paying Gortat now the full MLE and is trying to do whatever he can not to spend money. After Vince's contract expires I doubt he'll be re-signed in phoenix so any money saved there may have to go to a suitable 2-guard replacement.

I mean Sarver didnt want to pony up the cash for Amar'e if he is paying Gortat 6 million I doubt he'll want to put up a similar amount of cash to Robin.

Defensively Robin would help bring the team something they have been lacking since Mutombo was on the team. It would be nice to get him but would have to see how bad his injuries are, he has had a few the last few seasons and hasnt really be able to sustain a high level of play for a long time. He starts playing well and then gets sidelined sadly.

I'd like to see him sign with the Rockets or get traded to the Rockets if possible.

I understand that the owner had to cut spending seeing how he lost so much money in the recession but man to think 5 years ago their lineup was

    nash
    joe johnson
    qrich
    marion
    amare

and then barbosa off the bench...man that was one crazy lineup and probably would have been finals favorites year in and out if they were able to keep that team together.

Robin Lopez would be a perfect fit. I think the Suns would trade Robin for Arizona products... Jordan Hill and Chase Budinger. Jordan could start at the 4 and Gortat at the 5 backed up by Warrick and Frye.

Scola & Robin Lopez backed up by Patterson & B. Miller/Hayes would be solid & efficient.

If you were a Suns fan would you be happy w/ that crap for your starting center? NO. It would take Jordan Hill to get Robin Lopez. The Suns biggest void is the hole left by Amare's departure. Jordan Hill has been called by some a young Amare.

This is too dreamy to even talk about. No way Pheonix trades Lopez now.

Robin is a much better shot-blocker & defender than Brook -- that's what we need at the 5. Robin is a cheaper, taller version of Gortat.

brook can develop that (he's on a bad team and thus focuses more on his offense). brook can be a franchise center.

robin, well, can be a very good role player. and we have enough of those.

Brook is unavailable. All reports indicate that the Nets wont even offer Brook to Denver for Melo. On the other hand, Gortat may have just made Robin Lopez expendable for the right PF.

What about using Yao's contract to get Nash and Lopez?

I'm not a Suns fan, just a 'Sarver observer'. He wouldn't be trading Lopez he would be dumping Childress' contract, and picking up another possible Lotto #1.

If I were he I wouldn't do it. He being he? In the realm of realistic. IMHO, of course.

Lopez, looks like he isn't formed correctly- 7' tall with short legs or is it the long crotch which causes his shorts to be below the navel and hang below the knees. Possibly he needs correctly tailored shorts to correctly fit his torso. :p

As a 'Daryl Morey observer' he is not taking on the 5yr/53 million dollar Childress' bad contract just to acquire a role player like Robin Lopez. Daryl will take on perhaps 1 year of a bad deal like he did w/ Jared Jefferies -- not multiple years.

Perhaps. I'd love to get a young big man like Robin Lopez using Yao's contract. I'm not so keen on Nash at this stage of his career. What then do we do w/ Aaron, Lowry & Ish? A Steve Nash + Kevin Martin backcourt would be worse defensively than Brooks + Martin.

If Nash is gotten in any way, MArtin shpould be replaced by a more D oriented SG, to avoid the scenario that you mention...

Iggy could feel SG better than Iggy, if Nash would be the PG.

And of course I agree, Nash/Martin as the guard duo, would be suicide...

    nash/lowry
    lee/twill
    iggy/battier
    scola/hayes/patterson
    lopez/miller
if u ask me i would say thats an awesome lineup. i mean i would put that in the finals. because look at it like this. the orlando magic got to the finals with this.
    nelson < nash miles better
    lee =lee
turk <iggy better all around player
    lewis <scola say no more
howard >lopez well not any one else is better so ya.
But to conclude my point, the rockets could be a leegit contender if that goes down!! it would also be some fun basketball with twill lee and iggy in the gam at once!!! wooow!!

I respectfully disagree. I would not trade Kevin Martin unless we receive a real star (Melo, Paul) in return. Iggy is much less a priority now that we have a poor man's Iggy in Terrence Williams. With your lineup we lose are 2 best scorers - Aaron Brooks & K-Mart = pass.
