Did anyone else notice Robert Williams huddled up with Udoka and three other Rocket’s coaches following the game in a private conversation. It wasn’t the normal “nice to see you again” short conversation. It seemed serious and went on for several minutes. Wonder if he is our trade deadline target, as Stone has made it clear we’re not making any splash moves this year.

I wouldn't mind it at all. I love Adams, but Time Lord definitely could be our longterm solution at backup C. I just don't think I'd give up a FRP for him, and I'm not sure what they'd want for him.

No doubt the trade would include Jock Landale. Likely Landale, Tate, and a 2029 or 2030 first. Williams would be a great addition as he was a significant player under Udoka with the Celtics and is lost in Portland with Clingan and Ayton taking most of the minutes on a rebuilding team.

I love would Robert to be our backup C long term. Rim rolling big with great shot blocking instincts and a long wingspan.

Love that he covered his mouth for part of the convo

Landale + SRP should get it done. Just doesn't move the needle for taking down OKC, Celtics, Cavs, etc.

…maybe they were catching up because they hadn’t seen him on the court in so long. I love Williams’ game…but the poor availability means I wouldn’t give up much for him. He is a defensive game changer so I can certainly see why Portland is holding out for the best offer possible - there is the possibility some team feels they are one defensive stopper away from competing and maybe giving up a little more for the chance to acquire him…but I don’t feel like our team is in a particularly small competition window that we should overpay for anyone - especially draft capitol because we will increasingly need a steady influx of young guys on cheap contracts as our guys start to get paid. The days of overpaying a bunch of vets are quickly approaching their end.

Yes I noticed and it looked suspicious. I guess it gives us a different look. But Adams has been so good I don’t know if I’m not worried about having the different look.

I like Landale, but Williams would give us more of a different look at that 3rd center position.

I would love Time Lord if he wasnt made of glass. His 3 last seasons he played 35, 6 and only 14 games this season. Yikes.

If we wanted an athletic defensive C why didnt we outbid PHX for Nick Richards? We couldve cockblocked them for very little capital.

I agree it would be a different look cuz Landale can play whereas Williams would be sitting on the bench injured..

Would rather stick with what we've got. Pass.

    That would be considered tampering

We need another center who can guard in space and protect the rim in the playoffs and a shooter.

Timelord isn't needed on the Rockets. An upgrade at backup 1 will be more useful. Holiday is a ok player, but we need a better passer and shooter.

IMO Po’land has a real problem deciding how they want to progress thru their rebuild.

That may be why Williams put his hand over his mouth when speaking to Udoka. Take a look at Udoka’s eyes, almost looks more like Williams is telling him he wants to be traded to Houston. Adams is doing fine, but we could certainly be playing Williams over Jeff Green at the PF position when needed. He is a great defender and could be a serviceable replacement while Jabrari is out (which we found out is longer than expected yesterday).
