we were more talented than OKC. This was the true test.

 

OK? He wasn’t a scrub in this series, not even close, so I still don’t see your point? Was Covington supposed to carry us over the hump against the Lakers?

 

The problem was his defense this series. He let us down in the area we needed him most. His on ball defense was so poor we couldn't trust him to guard either AD or Lebron. We had to give his one job to Harden to slow the bleeding.

 

Covington isn’t an elite on-ball defender...he is an elite help and team defender

he is too light and skinny to defend someone like Lebron, and his feet aren’t the fastest...Lebron can body him out the way whenever he wants with ease

He is yet another victim of MDA system, forced to play out of position, and not able to use his strengths. Covington was giving the best he could. If he had decent help in the paint with real PF/C, he would be more effective at SF.
