Another point I’ll add is that the narrow views of conspiracy or collusion from our laws really open up future involvement from foreign countries.

If I was Iran and wanted to ease sanctions and potential for regime change, I would be working to hack Trump officials for dirt, and wouid follow the Russian playbook to send overtures to Beto or Biden’s camp to let them know what they are doing and wink wink that if Beto wins, he owes Iran ease of sanctions.

All of this foreign assistance in campaigns now really becomes okay to pursue given the fact that there seem to be no legal ramifications and no oversight from Congress as long as you don’t involve the candidate with your initial crime.

Republicans should be concerns with their own party halting any accountability to Trump officials on coordination with Russia. This changes everything with presidential campaigns that this level of coordination is technically legal if you are just dumb enough to not participate in the original crime.

Just to be clear....... I went back and listened to the press conference of William Barr and he definitively stated that he had the power to decide whether criminal charges against the President for obstruction of justice should be pursued and that the Mueller Report did not indicate that the decision to punish the President should be left to congress.

I was confused as to who said what.

Personally I find the statements of Barr even more disturbing.

If the Attorney General decides based on the Mueller reports findings that criminal charges should not be pursued that seems to be a logical conclusion to me because no criminal charges were recommended by the Special Prosecutor.

Correct, Barr does not have the authority to bring criminal charges against the President, nor does Mueller. Trump must be impeached first before he can be charged for any criminal violations.

Looks like Democrat Majority Leader Steny Hoyer is putting the kabash on the impeachment agenda.

Steny Hoyer tamps down impeachment talk after Mueller report: ‘Not worthwhile at this point’

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., pushed back on impeachment talk after the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report Thursday.

“Based on what we've seen to date, going forward on impeachment is not worthwhile at this point,” Hoyer told CNN. “Very frankly, there is an election in 18 months, and the American people will make a judgment.”

Hoyer’s comments stand in contrast to those of some of his Democratic colleagues in Congress, who had called for President Trump’s impeachment even before the release Thursday of a redacted version of Mueller’s report into Russian influence in the 2016 elections. House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., said Thursday that Mueller’s report was made “with the intent of providing Congress a roadmap” to investigate Trump for obstruction of justice.

Smart of him... that way the investigation can proceed without trump and putin defenders whining about being impeached...

Just because you and the people in the Democrat left echo chamber that you get your information from say something, does not make it so.

Rereading what Barr said, he was tricky. He didn’t actually say Mueller left to him he said that since Mueller didn’t decide it is left to him.

Just another pawn of the con man and another government institution going down the drain. What's more disturbing, and not unexpected, is the ah, it's perfectly alright that our President is a mobster directing criminal acts that his people has yet (we aren't so sure) act upon, or at least haven't gotten caught. In a way, I don't fault Trump - he is who he is and we are quite clear now than ever what he is. I place more fault on the people, especially those in government position, that continue to support him and defend him as they are enabler of his behaviors.

If you post a thousand examples, and everyone you know or respect agrees, and none of these examples is actually true, then all of you unanimously insisting otherwise will not make it so.

Sorry to be the one to shatter your fantasy world perspective on this.
