That explains why the Paris Climate Accords and the Iran Nuclear Deal have not been re-negotiated.

It's a matter of national insecurity.

One thing I have not seen discussed in this situation is what does Russia want to happen?

A weak US and Europe that's focused inward on it's own dissent and too powerless or distracted to contain Russia's aggressive ambitions with its neighbors, and as a bonus, its allies such as Assad.

Some of the dirt peddling is purely profit, but those sanctions are hurting Putin, so any way to break the current order short of war is fair game.

I appreciate the response. But that is generally what they have wanted since the 1950’s.

I meant I am curious what they want with the situation involving Trump and anyone associated with him.

I mean if Trump or his team did do something illegal Russia therefore should know about it (I assume) perhaps not though.

So are they wanting Trump to stay in power because they think he is walking calamity? Or do they want this process to drag out and information to trickle out slowly over time. Making the US look idiotic for voting this man in the whitehouse.

Total and complete political instability in the Federal Government. Alliances with our longtime friends stressed at best, torched at worst. Tentative alliances are trashed. Russia then gets to weasel in and make friends with the people who are now pissed off at us.

As with a lot of human behavior, he doesn't need one reason to pursue a pro-Trump campaign. And Putin is a notoriously Machiavellian dude. Let's see here...
    1. Weakens US internally.
    2. Weakens US internationally.
    3. Makes US potentially more friendly to Russia. (not coming true b/c all the blowback US publicity of compromised Trump circle folks.)
    4. Helps secure suspect funds of certain Russian oligarch and Russian political figures.

Hmmm... This is not bad investment. Somebody fire up troll farm! Let's see if can get Manafort and other compro-clowns in these Trump campaign somehow also.

Unsubstantiated charges about one FBI agent and an attempted Mueller smear is much more alarming than the indictments and admissions so far. DERP

This was a really bad look for the Mueller team. This looks like gestapo type tactics.

They are following FBI protocols, what did you expect them to do?

if all that comes out of an investigation premised on Russian interference in the 2016 election are prosecutions for stuff that happened well before/after the election, that's a total failure

but it's a common theme with DC prosecutors, end up only charging for things unrelated to the original purpose of the investigation

LOL at Trump supporters suggesting anything looks bad when they ignore the crumbling ground around Trump and his administration...

Laundering foreign money continued DURING election.

Lying to FBI was AFTER election.

But keep carrying Trump's false water: it's a great historical look. The best!

When it is all said and done, Trump might end up as the GOAT president, as he says himself, I am just not sure from which end he is counting from.

Trump is in the garbage. A few months ago, there was nothing. Absolutely nothing. Claim of witch hunt. Now we know multiple trump people worked with the Russian. In what world is gaining these facts a failure? Some conservative have already seen enough. I'm guessing most Americans has also. 49% support impeachment.
