fox news legal expert judge napolitano: asking to put an ally there "is clearly an attempt to obstruct justice." I am not a lawyer, so I don't know, but I seem to recall in past discussions about obstruction that you didn't need to be be successful at obstruction to be found guilty, but only needed to attempt to obstruct.

I'd also think that whitaker will get called back in front of the House subcommittee to follow up on his previous statement that now appears to be misleading answers if not outright perjury.

Judge Nap: New Report Could Show Evidence of 'Corrupt Intent' by Trump in Cohen Probe
NYT: Trump asked Whitaker to tap new prosecutor.

Interesting comment from kellyanne... noting that it isn't up to Mueller to release the report or not... does her comment "Let's see if there's a report to even discuss." could be interpreted that she/trump doesn't think the report isn't going to ever be made public?

Makes it sound like there is pressure on Mueller to not report.

Interesting that this came out the very next day from kellyanne's comment.

Keeping in mind (1) we have heard numerous times the report was coming out "soon" and (2) both kellyanne's comment and the newest "report is coming out soon" can be just gossip or rumors or wishful thinking.

What happens if no indictment but the report presents information that still shows trump, his family, and/or members of his campaign did things that look bad (beyond what already has resulted in indictments)? Since that is what I am expecting... the Mueller report itself doesn't result in an indictment for donald trump, but enough embarrassing info does get released. I also won't be surprised the NY State investigation gets info from the Mueller investigation that then introduces additional indictments. And trump is further weakened going into 2020.

So, are willing to go bet on my expectations?

Oh, i agree 100% that the findings will be designed to hurt him going into the 2020. That is a given.
I am willing to expand the bet to anyone named trump recieving an indictment. Game?

That's not what I said. I said the findings will embarrass him. Not that they will be designed to hurt him. You willing to take on that bet?

Why would anyone take that bet? It’s been made very clear that the DOJ won’t indict a sitting president.

So you’re totally bought in and admitting that Mueller is a liberal operative out to politically damage Trump?

Here’s another tip jar bet: I actually bet you’ll be singing Mueller’s praises here in the next few weeks because Mueller’s “report” (or more likely a progress report to Barr on why they indicted who they did) will likely seem as though Trump is in the clear because he wasn’t indicted and ushered out the front lawn of the White House in handcuffs.

The report is out...”No Collusion!!”... that is a predictable response to a report which will initially say little to nothing.

    ....

However.... I think your praises of Mueller will be short lived because anyone that has been following this case knows that “if true” that a report is coming and Bob Mueller himself is moving on, it sure as hell does not mean the dozens of other investigations, sentencings, and pending court proceedings are just going away.

As we saw with the Michael Cohen case, the court filings are where the real “Report” will be as it pertains to Trump (see Individual 1).

Mueller taking the FBI counterintelligence investigation from Comey/McCabe, organizing it without the DOJ breathing down their neck for 2 seconds, and then dispersing all the investigations across multiple investigative districts, will hurt Trump for the rest of his presidency... assuming there are bad things he has done of course.

The Trump PR team might think they won something in the short term, and will sing Mueller’s praises for a few days (will be funny to see people who bashed Mueller all the sudden act like they never said that and he’s an arbiter of truth and justice).... until the next indictment or two become public or a sentencing document comes out with another “Individual 1” reference.

Plus... Congress will be subpoenaing damn near all that report and based on precedent from Watergate, Congress should get the good majority of the evidence eventually. Of course that’s why Kavanaugh and Gorsuch are so important to Trump and why RBG’s impending retirement/death is such a point of obsession to everyone.

Trump and his minions know there’s stuff out there they are scared of. They’ve obviously put a lot of effort into doing everything they can to suppress what has to come out one way or another. Which in the end might be from whistle blowers if all else fails.

You think the Warren Report has been a point of scrutiny in the past, just wait what history does to the Bill Barr report for years to come.

This Trump Russia thing... is not going anywhere, and based on what we’ve seen and the obstructive way that Trump and Co. have tried to openly kill this investigation, it will not end well for your supreme leader.

They have known the Russia stuff was a hoax for over a year. They will some how justify auditing trump for two years based on false information, because Manafort evaded taxes a decade ago. Or some other brain dead non sense.

If there is one thing the left has shown this past month, its that they dont care about falsely accusing people. Kavanaugh, Covington, smollet, this. They feel no regret about any of it and they will keep doing it.

So when you say "they", you mean the Republican controlled and appointed DOJ?
