Mueller questions Cambridge Analytica director Brittany Kaiser

Brittany Kaiser, who appeared with Arron Banks at the launch of the Leave.EU campaign, has been subpoenaed by the Mueller team into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government.

Damian Collins, chairman of parliament’s inquiry into fake news, said

it was “no surprise” that Kaiser was under scrutiny by Mueller because “her work connected her to WikiLeaks,
Cambridge Analytica and [its parent company] SCL, the Trump campaign, Leave.EU and Arron Banks”.

so much for the convenient claim by Trump surrogates, Rudi, Sekulow, Whitaker, that the Mueller investigation is nearing the end

No idea whether she is guilty or not, but I actually do know something about this subject. There are plenty of examples of people "confessing" and then later being determined to be innocent (sometimes by DNA evidence).

So, as counter-intuitive as it may feel, people do confess or take a plea based on pressure (such as solitary confinement).

It's a pretty long report, but read thru that link and you'll be pretty disgusted with how the govt conducted itself.

If I believe the extremely partisan reporting and requisite distortion, that might be possible, yes. Sounds like it was an effective piece.

Trump has certainly pulled the curtains back on the corruption in Washington and he’s the one being investigated. This is going to get really ugly.

I do think the Mueller investigation technically will end relatively soon (maybe early Summer) but my hypothesis is actually what Mueller is doing is essentially creating a massive amount of subsequent investigations that the head of the DOJ and the White House cannot bury without firing the entire justice department, destroying court filed evidence, and giving obstruction of justice stand down orders.

I think Mueller knows the political nature of how his investigation is taking the heat so to speak so he knows he cannot stay forever especially with Bill Barr is fairly competent and will likeiy start doing tricky things to close up shop soon such as rewriting the special counsel mandate.

I also think the final “report” will not be a report so to speak but an actual indictment. Not of Trump actually but maybe he indicts the Trump campaign somehow or uses another indictment of Roger Stone or someone else where he finally gives conspiracy charges and Individual 1 is all over the indictment.

That will likely be “The Mueller Report”. That way he can ensure it goes to Congress if Barr just decides he doesn’t want to show it to anyone.

Representatives Ted Lieu of Calif and Kathleen Rice of NY have launched a probe into alleged ties between the National Rifle Association and Russian individuals linked closely to Vladimir Putin’s government, specifically regarding
    • the trip to Russia, coordinated by Maria Butina, taken by senior NRA officials and
    • Russian donations to the NRA
In late January, lawyer William A. Brewer III, who serves as outside counsel for the NRA, told The New York Times that the trip was not officially associated with the organization. However, according to a follow-up report by ABC News, photos and emails posted to social media suggested the NRA was far more involved in planning the excursion to Russia than it admitted.

According to The Times, the NRA trip to Russia was arranged by the organization’s former president David Keene who was close with Butina. Republican operative Paul Erickson, Butina’s boyfriend, who has been indicted on fraud and money laundering charges, reportedly said in an email that Keene also aimed to secure a personal meeting with Putin. Butina later helped Keene look into the possibility of importing Russian gas, although no deal was made.

Lieu and Rice now want to determine how much money was given to the NRA by Russians. “How much money did the NRA receive from Russia or Russia-linked individuals or entities during the 2016 election cycle?” the lawmakers asked, according to ABC News. “Did the NRA use any of that money in their 2016 election campaign contributions?”

The NRA previously said it only received one donation of $1,000 from a Russian individual. It later said it received two dozen other contributions, but those only totaled about $2512.85.

You should read that link that I mentioned. It discusses the NRA aspect of the Butina case.

Well, people can have opinions on misrepresentation and manipulation, but I can't see a logical path to "unfounded." She is not some innocent waif, despite her young, ginger appearance. She had, at the very least, interesting connections to and communication with figures in the RF.

So, anyway: are you hitching on to the evil-FBI train now? To what extent? And why are they risking whole careers to just frame a Russian damsel on a student VISA? ...

You gotta get something if you spend two years attempting to coup against an elected president or you will look like you were just doing it to coup against the president. They already risked their careers and this is their attempt to seem on the up.

this was the first bureaucratic coup attempt in American history, it should be thoroughly investigated and declassified

it's actually the perfect scenario for a Special Council, given the coup was being perpetrated by the DoJ. They can't investigate themselves. Conflict of Interest is one of the predicates for a Special Council.

This has been far and away the most successful special investigation in history.

    They don't "gotta get" anything.
