The question is no longer whether Trump broke the law, the question is what will Trump and his base do when he and his family is faced with criminal charges?

from the above link - the National Review...ya know that liberal rag that conservatives love the read...

There is absolutely a question of if Trump broke the law. There is no published evidence showing that he did. I personally believe that evidence exists and it will come out but we still don't know anything other than this is a batshit administration.

At the very least his public comments alone have damned him to obstruction of justice. Only the blind can conclude he has not broken the law. A Clinton would be in jail for what he has done.

We all know he's a crook. He was a crook before he became president, and he remains one after.

Alan Dershowitz has been defending Trump (often on Fox) but hopefully this was a misstatement...

As it was said in The Wire, black people have been voting for white people for a looonnggg time. This is just the next iteration of slander by Trump supporters. First Russian interference was an excuse...no, it happened. FBI investigation is an excuse/Comey is a Clinton/Obama crony....fired him. Muellers investigation is corrupt because he is too close to Comey. Mueller's team is too close to Clinton. Investigation is too broad.

There seems to be a lot of concern about this "nothing burger".

Dershowitz does have some experience in this area -- the effect of racial composition on the eventual verdict. There's no question that it has an impact.

Does Dershowitz have a mortgage or credit cards he needs to pay? Has he been getting a dearth of attention lately and wants to push himself into the "national conversation" about Mr. trump, the campaign, his staff, the Russians, and director Mueller? Seems like it to me.

I have been wondering if he joined the Trump defense team (as he joined the OJ defense team).

He's essentially been playing the part of Defense attorney for Trump for the past 2 months or so. I'd assume he was trying to get a job by giving free legal advice. He even said once on air that his liberal friends will kill him for giving essentially free legal advice but he felt the need to present a perspective from a defense attorney in this case.

I think his commentary is actually pretty interesting cause it gives us a preview of what a Trump defense will look like. In this case the "Racial Motivation" seems right up his ally given his OJ experience. He knows how that impacts the case.

But aren't we not supposed to know who the jury is for very good reasons? Isn't selecting a grand jury by a special prosecutor much different than in a local criminal case? Aren't we able to show a long history of prosecutions by Mueller and show no evidence of a pattern of selecting impartial grand juries?

Point being I think this defense will be more of a "court of public opinion" defense and will stoke the base to see Trump as more of a martyr to the deep state & Mueller who is going to get crucified by the right over the next 6 months to a year. But I don't see this as a legit way of getting this grand jury thrown out if its even possible to get a grand jury thrown out in a federal criminal case led by a special prosecutor. You'd need a much smarter legal mind than mine to answer that one, but I dont see it.

If Trump campaign colluded with Russia but no direct evidence linking to Trump, I doubt they will impeach him, even with a Democrat controlled congress.
