Knock off 100 years off that sentence and you might get Manafort to flip on Trump.

Perhaps reading from trump's approved news site will help you understand the connection between trump's campaign chairman, ukraine, and russia...

Can someone please explain to me why we need to have a 'Special Counsel' prosecuting what appears to be a plain vanilla income tax evasion case?

Pretty simple, they want him to make a deal, what better way to make him make a deal than to put him in jail for the rest of his life, don't tell me you cannot think of this.

You have completely failed to address the question. Why do we need to have a 'Special Counsel' prosecuting what appears to be a plain vanilla income tax evasion case?

Maybe, because it’s not. 2 days in and you’ve got this thing all figured out, eh?

Because he is the one who investigated it and is most familiar with the facts.

because they were appointed/tasked/assigned "to prosecute federal crimes arising from the investigation of these matters."

How do you know what "Special Counsel' is working on? The only thing you see are the things he wants you to see at this moment, so unless you on the 'Special Counsel' team, I would just wait until everything is done.

The ONLY reason a 'Special Counsel' was justified is because of supposed concerns about Donald Trump.

However, nothing related to this case, or anything else being advanced by Mueller and his crew for that matter, appears to have anything to do with Donald Trump.

This whole investigation stinks to high heaven and increasingly appears to be a misuse of the authority and power of the DOJ/FBI for corrupt and nefarrious, politically motivated purposes.

Would you have said this if Hillary Clinton's campaign manager had done the things Paul Manafort is accused of?

If Hillary Clinton's campaign manager was involved with tax evasion and money laundering regarding business activities conducted years before the campaign was even formed, I would have advocated an investigation and prosecution, if appropriate, by the FBI/DOJ. Which is also how this case and the other case with Paul Manafort should have been handled.

This has been no legitimate connection of any of this with a 'Special Counsel' targeted at Donald Trump. And Mueller apparently has nothing that justifies this politically motivated effort to undermine and oust the duly elected President of the United States.

Worth repeating for those unwilling to admit that our president is neck deep in it.

How many more indictments, guilty pleas, and court cases will it take to wake you dolts up?

The prosecution has been really thorough... you would have thought with all the evidence that manafort must have known would be against him he would have cut a deal instead of going to trial...
