Jeebus. Talk about an "activist judge." The judge seems confused about the exact language handed to Mueller and co. And since when does a judge try to interpolate to a prosecutor's motive? If Manafort is guilty as charged, or innocent as charged, that's what's relevant to the case before this judge. Methinks dude watches way too much Hannity.

Once upon a time, we didn't have people mocking prosecutors or defendants from the bench, like we do in this event, and in the case of the female judge telling the gymnastics trainer that she was basically relishing ending his life.

The more I think about it, the more unhinged it is. Was there bank fraud, or not?

Maybe this is being poorly/partially reported.

The same judge also said and did the following upon receiving the case in March of this year:

Manafort faces "the very real possibility of spending the rest of his life in prison.” He also said Manafort “poses a substantial flight risk” due to his “financial means and international connections to flee and remain at large.”

Ellis ordered Manafort to be confined to his home with a GPS monitoring device. He also ordered a $10 million unsecured bond.

Are we positive this isn’t the judge from DC? Either way your point is taken.

The whole reasoning for hearing Manaforts case yesterday was to do exactly what the judge was asking. Ask why Mueller didn’t hand Manafort over to another prosecutor like he did in the Cohen case. Why does he seem to be overstepping his mandate in this case.

Well based on public indictments ... the judge has a point. Why didn’t he refer to another district? Well... at the end of the trial yesterday, it became clear after the judge smacked around the prosecutors a bit, that they obviously either they have withheld evidence that connects Manaforts crimes to Russians and the election, or there is a serious disagreement with the judge that his ties to Ukraine don’t have one to do with the other.

This is why elections matter, and why putting unqualified judges on the bench wouid matter in a case like this where if this judge is really just a Hannity fan, he could have the power to completely blindside the entire probe, and etch his name in the history books. He can’t make all Trumps problems go away but he can help him quite a bit.

That being said, I think the entire episode yesterday wouid likely have been solved if Mueller’s prosecutor walked up to the bench and showed the extent of the evidence they have been withholding to the public. Trump fans should be careful gloating too much here because this judge they are loving might just be forcing some real damning evidence about the Trump campaign out of the bag.

Trump might regret that gloating speech he gave at the NRA yesterday. Only thing I heard was the reality that Mueller is needing to start showing more of the evidence they have to move the prosecutions forward which could be bad news for Trump if we are at that point where sunlight is about to be shed.

Or was in Mueller’s purview or not. If it’s not, it should have been referred to another prosecutor like in the Cohen case. Doesn’t mean the court should just completely wipe away crimes that have been uncovered in an investigation.

But I totally understand what your saying here. No idea why the judge would want to make himself the story here.

Interesting that Wikileaks is most interested in bits that support Two Scoops and never interested in the mountains that make his whole life and presidency seem pretty sketchy. I mean, it must just be random that Wikileaks only receives info on the former. Gee willikers.

I think Mueller and his team should use the opportunity to explain in detail why the Manafort trial connects Manafort, Russia (and Ukraine) and Trump. Works for me. Worst case the trial moves to Virginia. But also allows Mueller to start building out his case.

I bet if Mueller announces that is the direction he will go... the trump team objects.
