Tim, All, or the majority of, teams play and shoot better at home than on the road. So, your stats doesn't hold much value in disproving this. We're suppose to be better at home, yet we shoot poorer FTs at home.
say it with me whatsup......it. is. psychological. All arenas have the equipment to check and maintain the rims at their proscribed heights and levelness. He has already stated that the rims were checked prior to the Spurs game. are you suggesting that honorable Tim, is tryin to be misleading in defending TC's rims? If players miss their shots...they blame it on the rims? how bout blaming it on their shooting skills.... as they say....the stats dont lie... if Im not understadning where you are coming from...please educate me.
My question is this: What the hell does a tilted rim have to do with a missed shot, when the ball hits nothing? That is, the ball missing the rim back board etc. with in a foot. It happened so much last night, there were so many airballs I lost count. Rim...right....nice excuse.
I dont know...ask BobRob and Gino..they both seem to be of the opinion that it wasnt their fault they shot bad...and it wasnt the Rockets defense... It was those lousy rims at that Toyota Center place..gee, that place is brand new, they could at least have gotten that right. wtg BobRob....endear yourself to the Houston fans a little more
I didn't say there's a problem with the rim and I don't think there is one. All I am saying is that the stats he provided don't necessarily prove that there's no problem with the rim because, as I said, most or all teams play better at home. Having the refs check the rims before the game is good enough proof that there isn't a problem.

I don't know why everyone is trying to stick up for the Toyota Center rims. You should WANT them to be off. It would be less embarassing that way to be scoring only 87 POINTS A GAME with Yao Ming, Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley, Maurice Taylor, etc. on your team.
I dont understand why we shoudl be embarrassed. I guess Im weird in that I could care less what the national media and fans in other cities think about my team. it was a battle between the top two defensive teams in the league...and neither one was shooting very well. Add that together and you get a game that makes the old Heat\Knicks matchups look offensively effective.
Maybe there is something to this. Perhaps the Rox have deliberately made the rims a little bent to try to get some sort of home court advantage ala the old Boston Garden floor or with oddities like Tal's hill you see in baseball parks. I suspect they could secretly recalibrate the testing equipment to make it seem like the rims were level.
