http://www.nba.com/finals2007/dengate_070613.html “I just wear two of them,” Horry modestly remarked. “I wear one from the Lakers and one from the Rockets. They’re kind of big and gaudy. “The Houston team I was on,” Horry said, comparing his current team to his previous dominant squads, “we were just rolling. We just hit the right stride at the right moment." Definitely a traitor.
Props to original Clutch City member Robert Horry for another ring. This year wasn't his best horry playoff year (1995 Rockets, then that Lakers year when he hit that crap vs the Kings) when the history books are rewritten, they will see that the 1994 Clutch City had the most character and heart and clutchness of all teams.
Someone who said that he would diss the Dream was wrong. However, I don't like this other statement. http://www.insidehoops.com/horry-interview-061507.shtml Q: How does a 19-year-old kid [Tony Parker] come over from France and get three NBA titles and win MVP. Horry: You have to thank two people Pop [Coach Popovich] and Tim [Duncan]. Pop is the best coach I ever played for and Tim [Duncan] is probably the best power forward I have ever played with. You have to give a lot of credit to those two guys. He [Tony Parker] always led the league with points in the paint and being only 6’2 he’s a great point guard. He is so quick and so crafty that it’s hard to stop him. He’s a great player. Come on Rob, Rudy instilled the heart of champion in you. That's your best coach!
Saying Duncan is the best PF, sure I understand that one. How can you say Pop is a better coach? The only reason why Rob Horry is who he is cause Rudy T: 1. drafted him 2. made him play SF first and let him jack up all those 3s 3. made him play PF, but allowed him to still jack up 3s 4. traded him to detroit and made him a better player after he returned to the rox while fans and media called him lazy and soft etc, Rudy T knew what his strengths were and NEVER tried to make him a point forward like Pippen. You OWE RUDY T Rob!
In his defense, 1. The Rockets tried and failed to trade him to Detroit 2. The Rockets were in talks to deal him for Pippen during the 94-95 season I believe 3. The Rockets finally traded him to Phoenix for Barkley--the same player and the same team that the Rockets successfully beaten two years in a row. So I wouldn't doubt he would have some kind of chip on his shoulder with this team. Maybe not with his old teammates like Dream, Sam, or Kenny, but with the organization as a whole maybe.
I wanted Dream to have success with Toronto. If you are such a pyscho superfan and rooted against Toronto with Dream somethings wrong with you. That's like Bulls fans hating on Jordan or Astros fans hating on Nolan Ryan. The players win championships and bring glory NOT THE UNIFORM or THE OWNER.
I wanted him to teach Kato some moves the hardway! overall success I meant. But booing Dream. NEVER. EVER. It was sad to see him with the injuries and second fidel to Vince (Softness) Carter. It would have been cool to see an old Dream schooling people in the east.
i'd never boo vernon or say anything negative about his family, either. i wish he'd make some better decisions for himself off the court, though.
