tinman is a far better poster than I. It's an honor to be mentioned in the same sentence, but I am no tinman and could only ever hope to be the poor man's version of him.

A difference between tinman and myself is that he still loves the Rockets despite their treatment of the ROCKET HEROES.

    Robert Horry FTW!

You guys do realize that trades are part of the game.

I don't think some players take it personal.

I don't think fans should take it personal either.

    I like Clutch Robert Horry.

I don't like Cheap Robert Horry.

It's like in wrestling. Robert Horry started as a face, and joined the Rockets.

Then he became a heel when he got picked up by the Lakers and the Spurs.

He was in a tranisitonal phase when he was on the Suns.

He is still my favorite player, although it was kinda rough to root for him in LA....

Haha, I was just going to say "AntiSonic is the poor man's tinman"!

Unrelated thought: I am kind of surprised that no poster has a moniker "AntiSpur" or something like that.

As a former Lakers fan (f**k Kobe), I just want to say that Horry was an awesome presence here in Los Angeles. He never got into all that locker room crap. He was the perfect teammate.

You might remember his clutch shooting, but there's more to Horry than that. He deflects passes, forces turnovers, make key entry passes, and generally instills a sense of calm and confidence even in the most dramatic situations.

The late Chick Hearn always had nothing but high praise for Horry, and that alone is good enough for me.

Oh, and as far as I know, he never bad mouthed Houston when he played for the Lakers.

Anyone that thinks Horry is a traitor needs to watch ESPN Classic right now. The man is doing the same thing he did when he was the Rockets. That hard foul on Greg Anthony. Mixing it up with Oakley. Posterizing Oakley and then taunting the crap out of him. Dirtier now? Maybe but he's been playing hard-nosed basketball ever since his Houston Rocket days.

I don't care how. I don't care how much it costs or what it takes, but

the Rockets need to get Robert Horry on this team as a player or an assistant coach or something.

He's like a good luck charm or he sold his soul to a devil or something, but after this series 8 of the last 10 championships coming for Western Conference teams he has been a part of. Basically, from 93 to 2007 should be called the Horry Dynasty, and we should not fight whatever supernatural forces are allowing it happen or causing it happen.

Yeah but he also took a hard foul in New York and crashed to the floor on his hip. That was a very physical series.

What he did to Nash was a cheap shot, plain and simple. And I'm having a hard time remembering a play like that from his Rocket and Faker days.

When i saw this on TV, I knew someone was gonna blow up about it. I mean seriously, does it matter? While i do agree that he does really have a career of underachieving and could have been much more successful, he is what he is, and he is a winner. Why does he have to pledge his allegiance to a team that he played for like a decade ago that traded him (and embarrassingly failed trading him as well...). Another thing- he is not a dirty player, hes old school. If Larry Bird played in this day and age, you would be saying the same thing about him. They're just hard-nosed players.

I mean I am so sick of people looking to complain about being disrespected. Here are the truths in life: death, taxes, and the people not giving houston love. Its always been this way, and it always will be. Get freakin used to it.

it was not a cheap shot. it was a hard foul (which is a lot easer to dramatize then ur a pg getting smothered by a 4) and an amazingly pathetic acting job. I mean nash's timing was even off.

Seriously, what happened to tinman? I haven't seen him post in a while. I think you guys made him cry with all these threads bashing on Rockets' legends.

It has been over ten years since Robert Horry was a Rocket. I think Robert Horry has moved on with his life, maybe some of the Rockets fans should too.

Thanks for the defense, you are already 10x better than Mario Williams on D!!
I was on vacation so I didn't see this thread.
I saw Horry for his Katrina Charity Event and OT (Otis Thorpe for you newbs). I would say that Horry treated me like another fan while OT crushed my hand and was extremely happy when I told how awesome he was for helping us win our first champion. I also mentioned how he could easily out rebound anyone on the Rockets RIGHT NOW.

OT showing up for Horry's charity event shows that the Rockets of old are still close regardless of whatever Horry says.

    I was on vacation.

My Rockets karma made me run into Walt Williams at the MGM grand.
Also, I was down like 0-2 going to the craps table. Then I came back strong like Clutch City cause some drunk redneck dude got VERNON MAXWELL hot on the
    table!

left Vegas with $$$ in my pocket, plus my dinner and breakfast comped!

I like to thank Walt Williams
    #42

so get this. I had $20 bucks on the hard 4 (for craps newbies, its the bet that has the dice as 2 and 2, the 'soft' 4 is a 3 and 1). That pays 8 to 1.
    It hit!

so #42 = place a bet on '4' and '2' meant that both dice were '2's

Thanks Rocket Gods! To heaven for us! To hell with the Haters! Maxwell forever!

Of course Robert horry is a traitor,He must be taken to room 101 and be cured :)
on a serious note,I don't mind that he has won other championships with other teams;nor do I expect him to be loyal, when it was our team who wanted to trade him away a couple of times.
I know it's difficult for some of us...It almost feels like when an ex breaks up with you and one is left wondering who is she with now,and what is she doing...it's human nature to feel deceived, but we must move on.
