Ridiculous - that Horry/Cassell team got swept by Seattle in '96. With Barkley we went on to the WCF and if not for a ridiculous Malone bear hug, we're probably playing the Bulls for a title.

I'd love to see someone argue for or against this trade based on advanced analytics (that we clearly didn't have at the time).

When we lost ot and made horry the 4, we lost some rebounding which chuck provided.

Horry is mad about the trade. And probably the uniforms.

This is wrong on so many levels. Barkley busted his ass to win here.

I used to live in Galveston and heard a lot about when they would hold their training camp at Galveston College- it was pretty much a party for the entire camp. Some of the old bartenders in the bars on the Strand told me that Barkley and some of the other Rockets would roll in and set up shop and stay there all night- Barkley liked to get behind the bar and play bartender and buy everyone drinks. I can't imagine that Barkley got a lot of actual PT in during the day.

Seriously? No way. We should have made it to the finals in 1997; we got robbed in game 6 WCF. There was tons of Rox/Bulls apparel already printed up that got flushed, liquidated or sent to third world countries.

I grew up in Galveston and was a senior at Ball High in '94 when they had camp there. I've seen pictures of Barkley behind the bar at Ole Cellar Bar/Mollys and I've seen pictures of him drinking in other bars. It was a fun time for all from what I heard.

I was ecstatic like everyone when the trade was made but then soured on it. The chemistry wasn't good.

That said we did advance further
