robbery of the century pictures. not really.

edit...title is supposed to read robbery "of the" century.

well... went to the game. didn't know that it was sold out beforehand and had to pay a ridiculous amount of money (a ridiculous amount that i don't care to talk about) to one of those... what are they called? scalpers?

anyway, seats were ok. and was nice sitting next to some old dude who knew a fair amount about basketball and each team's players. nice guy. i'm sure that i sounded like a drunken idiot while talking though my friends say that they can't tell.

MOST DISAPPOINTING LOSS THIS YEAR! Refs suck arse.

strike one: clean block by mutombo, but called a foul.
strike two: yao's foul out. first of all, it's crunch time... you don't do that to the player who's gotten the most allstar votes in nba history. second, who in the hell calls that kind of a foul anyway? gasol makes a living turning baseline and using his off arm to wrap around defenders. everyeffingbody does.
strike three: loose ball foul on wesley?!? i shouted out "bullshat" as loud as possible and drew a few stares, but it was guys night out. no kiddies were in my area.

you're out... all three of you effers!

i was listening to the 610 on the way home and mj (or some guy) was talking about how refs don't know how to officiate big men and then he went on to mention yao along with shaq. please. two completely different players... defensive and offensive. obviously.

seattle is far from scary. i don't buy the fact that the rox lost this to rebounding and the lack of point guard play. the refs truly lost this one for them.

well... thanks for those who showed there support and sold out the arena tonight (and making me buy a ticket off of a scalper). the place was rockin' though.

    here are the pics...

shot by yao in the first. it was a brick.

    hometown boy shooting

    crucial freethrow from mutombo
    [IMG]

is it too much to ask for one this year?

i guess i have to do the powerdancer cliche thing
    [IMG]

ooops... didn't mean to do that. really... i didn't.

forgot to mention mo taylor bobblehead night
    [IMG]

well, the rox are 1 and 2 when i attend. may stick to the tv for a while now.

edit... having to cool it on the pictures because of the limit. too lazy to make another post in the thread with more. maybe later.

That was probably the worst officiated game I have ever seen. tough, tough loss. You could almost feel it coming though. I mean, those endless sequences where we couldnt get a rebound, but I saw some positives. First, we hung with one the top teams in the western confrence. Second, we were SCREWED by the refs. Third, we didnt have sura. What we showed tonite is that we can make some noise in the playoffs.

Usually refs might make a few bad calls here and there. But today every single mother freakin call went against us. And we are at freakin home!!! The NBA refs are truly the biggest bunch of MORONS in the world. I mean do they get any sort of training or do they just straight come of the streets?

The foul on Mutombo was called by a ref that was all the way out by the three point line. There was a ref underneath the basket and he didnt call anything. FREAKIN MORONS!!!

They did truly cost us the game tonite. :(

I was there at the game as well. It filled up slowly and as mentioned there were scattered singles. I'm with everyone else about the officiating. I don't know if I was the only who saw it but in the first quarter Howard was tagged with a BS flagrant foul. After the play died down Howard was walking away and Evans tripped him (swiped at his foot), so Howard turned around and smacked Evans. Evans played dirty the whole game and the refs didn't do anything about it. Horrible.

Does Stern think this is fun for the fans? Forget about the blown calls tonight, which were galling enough, but there is not a single night that passes when a couple of players around the league don't have something like a 17-22 FTM/FTA statline.
The whistleblowing in general has gotten out of hand. Let the players decide the friggin games!!! Stop halting the action every 10 seconds with some ticky-tack bull****e ! I would rather they let half of these plays go, rather than calling a foul they are gonna get wrong anyway!
Stern....you are taking the fun out of the damn game, and pissing people off left and right. The folks in Sacramento are ready to lynch your ass, and the Rocks fans are not far behind.

    his ride out of town.

yeah. you could tell from the beginning that it was going to be one of those days. i forgot how many times they blew the whistle in the first three minutes of the game... (actually... checking nba.com play by play right now)... the sonics had 4 personal fouls one minute and four seconds into the game. terrible. of course you would normally root for something like that happening to the opposing team, but you just knew that the refs were going to even it out for the rest of the game.

sometimes the refs talk amongst themselves during halftime to let the players "play", but these bastards didn't see how they were dictating the outcome of the game.

an official deciding a game in the final seconds with loose ball foul freethrows? hopefully vg's sending a tape to the commish.

Are you kidding me? The Mo Taylor Bobblehead isnt just Taylor but Taylor next to a stupid Toyota Truck? Talk about LAME! How much advetising do we need shoved down our throats!?!? There is a time and place.....giving a fan a collectible is not the time to throw in advertising for Toyota.

Boo-urns to the Rockets Marketing department.

Ya know, I would really like to see a media source (TV, website, etc.) describe a game's end as being caused by bad officiating.

You see the game recaps on ESPN, etc. that'll say that the game was won from free-throws or rebounding. The only time I see them talking about a game being won or lost by the refs is when it's a Lakers game.

There MUST be a hoops website out there that will call it like it is and say Houston was robbed by the refs (other than Clutchfans, of course).

It was just one of those nights....The refs were r****ded...seriously r****ded and that's not homer talk either. It was seriously out of hand from jump street. The bad calls went both ways but we got the just of it and the bad calls cost us our precious winning streak. They called fouls on things they didn't see and the things they saw, didn't call anything...classic

Had a couple of dudes kick over my soda while trying to get to their seats and never apologized. (not until I got my ass up and gave a heat check) The kid behind me had the loudest, smallest horn in north America and was proud! Lets say he tooted his horn all night long. He was Rockets fan so I was down with him. lol I was suppose to get a discount on my tickets (and was expecting it) but end up paying the regular high ass price, that was sweet! I also had a fan below me that didn't know a forward from a guard and relied on me to make sure he was on top of things. Last, but not least....my girl had cramps. I feel I just announced the Late Shows top ten of the worst things that could happen to a brotha during an expensive ass Rockets game.

    Thanks NBA!!!

I was really disappointed in last nights game and I admit that phantom foul on Yao was B.S. but Wesley body slammed that dude out of bounds...that WAS a good call. But if you want to blame the loss on anything how about grabbing a rebound!!! How many offensive board did Seattle get in the last 6 or 7 minutes?????

He didn't slam him.....it was a loose ball and both were going for it. It's a no-call situation. You don't penalize for hustle within the last minutes. The rebounds......I'm with you on that, but we had the game under control eventhough.

Well I disagree...it seemed like Ray Allen and Bowen were chasing the loose ball when it appeared Allen would get it, Wesley came from nowhere and slammed him out of bounds. When I used to ref basketball games, (high school games) they used to tell us in ref school "advantage gained" which means if two players are shoulder to shoulder chasing a ball it's no foul until one of them uses his arm or whatever to get an unfair advantage. I feel Wesley used an unfair advantage to push allen out of bounds. Don't get me wrong...I'm sick over the loss, but it's not the ref's fault. The Rox need to stop self destructing at the end of games. Everyone's afraid to shoot at the end plus the rebounding disappears.

I disagree. What bad calls benefited us? We didn't get a single borderline call all night long. I challenge anyone to come up with 3 plays where we clearly got the benefit of the doubt, and it resulted in points. Sure, they gave us a few fouls towards the end, non shooting affairs of course. I mean, Allen gets slightly bumped by howard, and he gets freethrows because of the penalty. Meanwhile, Tmac can't get a call going to the basket all night long.
