No list is complete without the addition of the great Bob Knepper.

In a sense, he redefined the fastball. I guess his "slow"ball did not catch on.

Gotta have Mike Scott and Billy Doran. Those guys were awesome during the mid- to late-80s.

And Larry Andersen is a MUST, if only because he got us Bags. :D

    Puhl?

Where's Jimmy the Toy Cannon Wynn?????

Before Bagwell, Wynn was the best Astro hitter ever! Man he always gets overlooked.

I think the N.O.W. might have a problem with your addition. ;)

Yes! I only bring him up because doesn't he always get one HOF vote every year?

Actually, this is Knepper's exact feelings on the N.O.W.:

"NOW is such a blow-hard organization. They are a bunch of lesbians . Their focus has nothing to do with women's rights. It has everything to do with wanting to be men."

I wonder if Hootie Johnson and he are friends.
    ;)

He received one vote the only year he was eligble. It came from one of the Houston sportswriters.

Actually, the most underrated relief pitcher was Frank "DePenus" Dipino. I think they created the blown save category just for him so that his true talent could be appropriately measured. I can remember my old man storming out of the room cussing every time they brought him into the game.

And wasn't that the greatest 3 days ever. my memory is terrible, but it went something crazy like this...

    Deshaies 8 k to start a game
    Ryan 2 hit shutout
Scott no hitter to clinch division

One of the reasons that I will always hate Tommy Lasorda.

How about the poll question: Who's the greatest Astro of them all?

Candidates are: Bagwell, Biggio, Cruz, Cedano

    According to Neyer:
I've always liked Biggio more than Bagwell but when it's all said and done, Bagwell will be the first Astros-cap wearing HOF.

Having Neyer in Biggio's corner should help him a lot for the HOF. It's going to be an interesting vote when his name comes up.
