There are no ADs on mine. Or maybe I'm not looking in the right place. If you have a TIVO, I agree that it pales in comparison. However, the TW DVR works well enough, has 2 tuners and records HD. To get that from TIVO you have to pay lots of $$$. I had TIVO before the TW DVR. The GUI and slowness irritate me, but not enough to pay for 2 services, because I have to have HD.
