Should be pretty cool. I hope your church is ready to grow. I almost never travel out to that part of Houston, but they's big thangs poppin' on that side. I need to check it out sometime. I always think of I-10 and the Beltway as "suburban," outside-the-loop type stuff. I've been hearing more and more though that it's basically the center now of Houston's white populace.
We won't be in that theater much longer...but we don't really have a membership drive thing going on there, anyway....working hard on not being a country club church.
is there one? i'm in there everyday, and i'm not sure i've noticed it. i'll look this afternoon. the place is like disneyworld. my dad dropped my son off one morning for me...he came back home and asked my mom if she'd pay for him to enroll there!
I think that was the place...I've only driven past it at night when it was closed and happened to notice it. Maybe I'm thinking of a different place. That's hilarious about your Dad! Mine's done the same with my nieces and nephews!
How hostile do the people that live back there have to make before you keep the hell out. Those 12' traffic circles at residential intersections and the speeed bumps are a drag man. A better idea ...circa 1860 The Med Center around the park is the same idea, sorta. In Houston the soil is mostly fine clays and the average slope of the land is 1' of drop per 1000'. It rains almost 50" a year; there are thunderstorms 62 days a year. It's it weren't for the concrete bayous the whole place would be a swamp. Our Riverwalk is the Shipchannel and it makes a whole lot more people a living and pays a whole lot more taxes than San Antonio's.
Hey man, that's my old stomping grounds. I blame my parents for the proliferation of speed bumps in the Memorial area. They pushed HARD with the neighborhood association to get them on our street (which people drove down going like 90). After we got 'em, EVERY street in the neighborhood followed suit. Then, Benignus just HAD to one-up everyone with the ridiculous roundabouts. Man, I hate driving in that area now. I like to remind my parents of the clusterf*** they wrought, oh, at least 30 times a week.
