I'm beginning to think that this is the same image, under the same name, that they just update it because it keeps changing. If anyone has saved these maps, please post them in a different name so we can see how the NHC's coordinates and predictions have been changing. I am trying to find out if the landfall has been moving north or south during this time. I will post again if I see it. So far, that image up there by SABIRK was on 9-19 10:04 a.m., and the image looks updated to today at 10. I will save it for posterity here (look at my post time): Here is another:
Just a little reminder for everyone worst case scenario for Houston is a direct hit in Freeport while bending north into west houston. Pretty much like where Alicia hit. So keep that in mind.
Yeah, the image keeps refreshing itself to the newer version. When I first posted that the storm was aimed below Corpus.
I was out shopping for hours today. No portable generators remaining in the State of Texas except for pawn shops w/ price-gouging.
Anybody know what highways will be shut down and when? I want to take I-10 home to Beaumont tomorrow morning, but I don't want to wait too late.
I hope and pray for everyone. I'm very worried to hear about this Hurricane. I used to live in Houston some years ago and I loved every minute of it.
man this is becoming surreal. i knew i had a vision/dream of this storm that's about to blast our ass. a post from the past, last year. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=85425&highlight=dreams+clouds "giddyup I had a dream like that recently. I walked to the window, looked out, and the darkest clouds were low to the ground and racing across the the sky. Day seemed to be turned into night. And I remember walking to the next room and seeing my brother and trying to tell him what was happening but he just sat there in sad shock as if he thought the world would never be the same{end dream} I will remember that dream for awhile."" 165mph now they say eh. in my dream i was there to witness it so i'll stick it out here. i was walking around the house in shock that much i remember and the racing low dark clouds, streaming across the sky with vicious violent speed, is what i most remember about that vivid dream. and of course my relative in shock, on the couch, unable to speak. seems those of us that are staying have a death wish. bring 'er on.
Remember this guy? http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/special/05/katrina/3334057 "We've got sick people in here and this is how you treat us!" one man shouted. "Welcome to Houston! I hope a hurricane comes to Houston!" Let's find him and kick his bad karma bringing ass. NOTE: Three weeks ago, there was an actual name there. The Chronicle pulled it. Interesting.
I will try to post later, but this may be one of my last post for some time. Victoria County and our surronding area have executed a manditory evacuation. I will be leaving for Austin tomorrow. I am not a wimp, but I am scared, will I have a house or a job when I get back. We are right on line here in Victoria for Rita, I hope everyone else stays safe.
Hurricane Rita now Category 5 I just heard on the radio from someone reporting from a hurricane overflight that the winds in Rita now put it at Cat. 5 strength at 165 MPH. Also they said that the air pressure inside it is getting as low as Hurricane Katrina meaning that it could be as strong as Katrina
Wasn't it the young guy who drove the bus from NO.....and left to California or something to sell his story b/c he had offers?
