Pretty much. You'll probably enjoy this Blender list of dead rock stars. 1st two, Lane Staley and a picture of Kurt Cobain http://www.blender.com/guide/articles.aspx?id=1855 Its like that in all entertainment really. Anyone who dies young, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe. Len Bias, Hank Gathers, etc. Also other musicians or record companies are looking to BANK with tributes and such. If any dead musician touched a good number of people, we're gonna hear a regurgited rendition of their work some time or other. It can also positively influence others though. If Buddy Holly didnt die the Beatles might not have existed as we know it.
Lennon did duets with his wife. Michael Jackson > Yoko Ono Oh. Say Say Say = #1 on US Charts Tell me when any of the Lennon & Yoko duets ever made the top 100? on top of that Ebony and Ivory was a legendary song too.

Genius. Say Say Say can go suck a nut compared to what John Lennon put out.
I did say DUETs when Yoko Sings. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Kpgataezz8M&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Kpgataezz8M&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> compare that to Say Say Say. Yoko sucks and that's all on Lennon. I bet Linda could sing better or even that 1 legged girl.

Nobody can Flow like Pac
I bet Jimi's wife could sing better than Yoko Ono. Did someone damage Lennon's ears? You can praise what a genius Lennon is. Fine. But on the other side of the coin, I commend Paul for telling Lennon that Yoko can't sing. Faith Evans was a billion times the vocalist than Yoko Ono.
no hes not. He had 1 GREAT album. He does not have enough material to earn that tittle. His first cd is a top 5 rap album of all time but his second one wasnt that special
Im preety sure "Imagine" must have been easily in the top 100. Im only 20 I dont know how good it did when it came out but I love that song.
I did say DUET. Watch the video and tell me how much singing Yoko does on it. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/C-FSd3FvT9w&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/C-FSd3FvT9w&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

so much misguided misinformation propagating in this thread.. excluding tinman's opposition on the subject of John Lennon.. the man has simply irretrievably lost his marbles.. but to better contribute to this thread.. as a truly objective individual.. I can say that back in my early teens.. when I strayed from my natural musical taste and dabbled a bit in the genre of "rap/hip hop" etc.. as to fit in with the dismal majority of my even less appealing immediate surroundings at the time.. I listened to everything from well known and celebrated artists.. to the lesser knowns.. past to present.. and aside from enjoying a little bit of the Sugarhill gang.. Grandmaster Flash.. NWA.. Ice-T.. I have to say that when it came to the battle of the contemporaries.. it was Tupac Shakur's music.. as a whole.. that I genuinely liked.. in contrast.. i just never much cared for mister Biggy Smalls' music.. and I used to absolutely loathe.. "Big Poppa".. whenever it'd appear on MTV or come on the radio.. his albums/CD's just ended up collecting dust somewhere in my room.. though I did approve of his contributions to the posthumous releases of.. "Mo money, Mo Problems" and "It's all about the Benjamins".. somehow.. his collaborative work rose to higher regard than his solo work.. for me..
