All EA Sports games are available on XBOX except the March Madness series. You also don't have to buy memory cards, cartridges, etc. for the XBOX because it has a built in hard drive. I love my XBOX and would pick it over my PS2 any day.
I agree that Enter the Matrix looks better on the XBox. And Madden 2003 was only online on PS2, correct? Maybe I should rephrase my hatred of Microsoft like this: I hate Microsoft because their software has all sorts of flaws and security issues and is constantly in need of patches. I hate supporting their company. HOWEVER, I really wanted to play Halo so I bought the XBox. Nice product. However, PS2 had more games that I wanted, and more FUTURE games that I want, so it was easy to get rid of the XBox. Why do people have to be so defensive of their hardware platforms? Its a freaking TOY....
It seems to me that the only games I like for XBox don't take long to get on the PC. KOTOR, Morrowind, Deus Ex 2, and Halo, off the top of my head, are all going to be on the PC. I got Morrowind for my PC, and while it could be real good on the Xbox, if I had a choice, I'd put it on my PC simple because of all the mods and customizable stuff I could do to it. I remember busting it out a while back and download megabytes of new stuff such as new monsters, armor, weapons, dungeons, sounds, talking swords, etc. Plus, as far as Halo goes, I never could play it very well on a controller, or any FPS for that matter on a console. I LOVE my mouse and keyboard over a control. Now, for why I like PS2. Just about all the games I like on it are EXCLUSIVE to this system. Final Fantasy, Xenosaga, Star Ocean, .Hack (though I haven't played it yet, it looks good.), and of course GTA. Now, they also have games that are kind of exclusive that come out on the PS2 and may later port to another system such as MGS, and Silent Hill. I also like the diversify of games. I think when it comes to each genre, the PS2 usually had the most and best games in each genre. For example, the PS2 has a lot of platform games while I can only think of 2 or 3 for Xbox. (don't play these games much, so I could be very wrong, but it sounds about right.) As far as graphics go, yeah, the PS2 is usually the worst in this category, though it is not like you are comparing NES graphics to SNES graphics. Though really, graphics mean almost nothing to me in most the games I play. Right now, I'm going through a phase where I am playing games that were made 4 to 5 years ago and they are great. (pc) While the graphics don't look great, the story, controls, gameplay all make up for it. The games I all like on the PS2 don't need good graphics to be good, basicly. Just because the Xbox has more power doesn't mean it is the system to get. I just follow the system that gets the good games. JMO. edit: Man, if this gets any more offtopic, which I certainly didn't help, then we're should probably start a thread in the other hangout that I have never been to really. Wonder if console debates can go toe-to-toe with racial and political debates.
I knew I had forgotten which ones were there. Yeah, they are there. Just forgot about them. (should have known since I actually have GTA on the PC.) Still, the rest of them, I believe, are exclusive. It just seems that way more of the great games for the Xbox are also for the PC while the PS2's great games are just for the PS2. Man, the PC kicks the ps2 and Xbox's butt. I just need to get one of those gamepad controllers.
All EA SPORTS games will be on the XBOX...but none of them will be online. EA didn't agree with MS's pricing scheme for Live so did not support it. Only PS2 EA SPORTS games will be online. And I totally agree with RC's take on the whole PC/XBOX thing. Graphically superior doesn't mean jack if you don't have the games. I have PS2, Gamecube and a good PC. PS2's RPG selection alone puts it way ahead of the other two. And there are tons of quality games that can't be find anywhere else. Yeah, like the other systems, there's a lot of crap. But the sheer amount means there's a lot more you'll want to play as well. New Metal Gear, Dynasty Warriors series, Final Fantasy, etc. I have played games for a while now. I have to have the Mario, Zelda, Metroids and such I grew up with. Hence, my GC gets plenty of play. (And the third party sports games are slightly better than on my PS2. In fact, I think the new Madden will make use of the GBA connection.) And any real FPS gamer plays their games on the PC. So I have no need for an XBOX yet. Maybe Halo 2, possibly even Fable....but that's still a maybe. PS2 and XBOX are both 179. Gamecube is 149, and I think up until this month actually included a free game and Game Boy Player.
Man, I completely forgot about that series. Actually, Konami does pretty well on the PS2. I don't know if they have any good games for the other systems. Not along ago, I played Romance of the Three Kingdoms VII. Man, that game was so complex, but the gameplay was great. For those who don't know, it is strategy game with some RPG elements. I think it is like a strategy version of the Dynasty Warriors series since it has the same names and stuff. In it you can run a country, give advice on how to run it, take orders and run a city, be a soldier, or be a mercenary. Took a bit of my life from me. Oh, and BTW, the graphics were pretty much all 2d. Man, I really talked a lot about just one game. Especially since I don't even thinks it cracks the top 5 games I like on the PS2. Yeah, those games had me kind of wanting a GC, but I doubt I could get it. Maybe when I get older, get a job and stuff, I'll get some used copies of those games, and a GC, if I'm lucky. Or I could just find someone who has them and be their "friend." My friend has an Xbox...and a PS2...and I think he may have had a GC at one time or another. I'll just go to his house to play those games. Man, I need to check out this Fable. Haven't been keeping up with the new games lately and this is all I hear about. Probably check out some previews later today.
I don't know if this is true or not, you might want to call Sony and find out, but I've heard that if you have a Disc Reading Error, you can call Sony and all you pay is shipping and handling and they will fix it for free.
The best option is to buy a new PS2 at Wal-mart. Then clean the dust off of your old PS2 (preferably with a pressurized air cleaner used for computers), put it in your PS2 box, and return it. There's no need to call Sony. The same applies to a broken XBOX.
I think you should go to Wal-Mart and buy a new PS2. Then when you get home, replace the new one with your old unit and bring it back to the store. Seriously, how many more times is this solution going to be mentioned in this thread? Five? Ten?
The enhanced version of Dynasty Warriors 4 for Xbox looks sweet. Hopefully MGS3 turns it around after the disaster that was MGS2. I wonder how long until FF12. I just don't have the time necessary to make it worth paying a monthly fee to play FF11 (which will also be on PC).
Linksys is working on an adapter for this, but the best solution is to get a wireless router that has at least one wired port so that you don't get any latency.
I love Halo and NBA Live. I also have a PS/2 with a network adapter and I play Twisted Metal Online a lot, my screen name is Yao ROCKS.
Heh. Sad thing is, I didn't get into the Dynasty Warriors series until 3. Better late than never, I guess. You ever tried Dynasty Tactics, RC? DT 2 comes out in a month or so, and I'm wondering how good it may be. And Fable is an action/RPG. It's made by the guy that made Black and White, and is supposed to be a very open-ended game. If it works out, it would become the second must have XBOX game for me. (Knights of the Old Republic would have been that, but it's coming to PC).
I really meant to play DT after playing ROT3K VII, since it was on the book, but I got pretty busy is the "real world," so I had to quit games for a while. When I had time to play again, I forgot where I was and just started playing cheap old games for the PC. That's mainly why my knowledge about games wasn't quite normal in this thread, showed by my mistakes. I think I saw Fable on TV before, but the name change threw me off. I think when I saw it, it was called Project Ego. I checked out a preview of it on Gamespot, and it does indeed look very impressive. Basically looks like a newer version of Morrowind, which is a pretty good comment to me. Don't think I'll get a Xbox just to play it, but I think it definitly has potential to be a game that does that to people. I think the only thing that could hurt it is bugs, which there must be plenty of, and a delay, which I believe the maker has been known to do at times. Still, I certainly will give it a try at my friend's house.
I liked MGS2. I think I'm the only person that liked it. The story was kind of dumb, but as far as gameplay, I thought it was the best game I've ever played. But I am looking forward to the new one.
