Xbox now has literally hundreds of games. The problem though is that EXACTLY LIKE PS2 & GCUBE, 90% of all of the games suck. WTF is the point of having 5,000 games for PS2 if almost all of them suck & are graphically & technically inferior to Xbox & Gcube games? I can think of only 2 good games - Vice City (coming soon for Xbox) and Gran Turismo - that PS2 has over Xbox. When you throw in Gamecube w/ its Mario, Resident Evil, and Rogue Squadron lines, and Xbox w/ HALO, Knights of the Old Republic, etc - this area is a wash. That said, you bring up a good point - Xbox Live is off the hook & thriving, while Sony's online system has fallen apart b/c they try and squeeze more $ out of you for extra parts. Not to mention that to play online w/ Sony you'd have to subscribe to every individual gamemaker's online service (and most are not even offering one)... People have been brainwashed by Sony - GO BUY XBOX! (yes, I do own stock in Microsoft, lol)
Well, if your PS2 doesn't have any scratches on the outside, you could always get a new one by ripping off Wal-Mart. 1. Buy a new PS2 at Wal-Mart. Pay cash. Take it home. 2. Replace main unit of PS2 with your broken one. 3. Bring back PS2 and get a refund, or exchange it for $300 worth of other stuff. Personally, I'm happy with my GameCube.
The Xbox doesn't have many RPG's but it currently has the best RPG available on any of the big 3: Knights of the Old Republic. Great game, sucked 60 hours out of my life without me noticing
Morrowind too. I think I lost 2 weeks of my life - and still haven't gotten that far - playing that game, exploring that world, and getting killed trying to steal items from characters I had no business going near.
i remember when i bought the playstation when it first came out. I hooked it up and left it sitting on the carpet in front of the TV. We'll one day i go to turn it on and it won't work. I thought it was the game so i kept trying different ones and nothing would work. I popped the case off and the motherboard had begun to melt. Come to find out, the guys over at Sony fixed that problem with a newer version. I've had my PS2 for about a year and haven't had 1 problem with it.
I recommend that you buy a new one from Wal Mart. Then take your old dead one, put it back in the box, then return it saying it was defective, and get your money back. In essence, you are simply swapping out PS2s for free.
Are all the EA sports games available on XBOX? I've had my PS2 for 3 years and I've never had a problem. I keep it flat instead of on the side. Maybe that has something to do with it.
Not to bash Sony, but all of their products are pieces of crap... I've had phones, Tv's, DVD players, all returned to Best Buy...You have to spend money to buy the warranty...money well spent... My Dreamcast is still going strong...
I've had my PS2 since the Christmas after they came out and mine still works fine. In fact, it's my X-Box that's always messing up. It freezes all the time from overheating I guess.
Last time I checked the price of Xbox had been greatly reduced and is the same price as Gamecube and PS2. Xbox is better than the other 2 systems in every way except Xbox doesn't have GTA, yet...
Better story and characters than the last 2 movies (ok, that's not saying a whole lot, but HK-47 is the best...droid...evah), great graphics and sound (every line of dialogue in the game is dubbed, and the actors are actually very good), and great gameplay. Move your character towards the light side by being nice to people and doing the right thing, or intimidate, kill, and steal to move towards the dark. Wielding dual lightsabers in 5.1 surround sound never gets old
Had both PS2 and Xbox. Kept both for a year, but as games were released I kept buying PS2 games at a rate of one per month while XBox was only once every 4 months. Played Halo, very cool...and Oddworld 3, sorta disappointing. Eventually traded my XBox to someone for a Gamecube so I could play RE Zero, then sold that to my idiot friend for $100. I'm with RCCola....I'm a Final Fantasy fan, and so Sony is my platform. Mine has never broken, and I play a hell of a lot of online Madden with my buds. Plus I just wasted 2 weeks on Enter The Matrix and SOCOM. Microsoft sucks, if it wasnt for Halo I never would have bought a piece of their hardware.
Enter the Matrix and almost all these other games are available in a graphically superior format for Xbox. Please also do explain why Msoft sucks when it comes to gaming. Since they released the Xbox they have done everything they can to please hard core gamers - making controller hardware changes in response to critiques, allowing modding & software updates to the OS & hard drive, pouring money into small developers to spur gaming... I could go on & on...
Knights of the Old Republic is very good. Easily the best RPG. The story is good. The Action is good. The Dialogue is good. It's a real nice mix and keeps a good pace. The best part about the fighting is that it's fast and furious, but at the exact same time, you get to pick each move you make very carefully. I've never seen that mix before. But I like it a lot. It kind of works like a que of moves for each character. As was said, you can go light side or dark side. It's your call. I play a lot of role playing games on x-box and this is by far the best. It doesn't feel like a slow paced traditional RPG to me. It's very good. I'd give it a 9.5
