I always loved what he brought to his acting roles. He just seemed totally unique apart from any other actors IMO. He will be missed. RIP

It seems to me that Peter O'Toole would be the last person who'd want the afterlife to be either restful or peaceful. If anything, he'd want to resume the craziness of his youth.

So instead of saying RIP, I think I'll just raise my drink in his honor. It just seems more appropriate.

Best actor of his generation. My first intro to his work was The Last Emperor. RIP good man.

    RIP.

Lawrence of Arabia is one of the finest movies I've ever seen. I just saw Venus a few weeks ago, and I remembered thinking of his age.

RIP. A great actor who brought a lot of elegance to his roles. I liked how Michael Fassbender based his role in Prometheus on O'Toole from Lawrence of Arabia. It was a great homage to the otherworldliness of O'Toole.

Way before my time, but I'll have to check out Lawrence of Arabia one of these days. Didn't realize he was the star in it.

    RIP.

But...Lawrence of Arabia...let's just say that movie does not hold up over time. Not a knock against him, just shocked to see multiple posters say it's the finest film they've ever seen.

I'd be curious to hear what somebody who's never seen it before thinks of it.

And I'd be shocked if you can get through it.

I agree with this for the most part, but it is beautifully shot.

I completely disagree, and I have to question anyone's film sensibilities If they can't "get" Lawrence Of Arabia. What hasn't held up over time? Lawrence's brilliance is in its dialogue, camera work and acting, along with it's hugely debated overarching themes. Sure, I don't expect our resident (The Dark Knight) fanboys to get it, but that doesn't mean I can't be disappointed.

Complex characters, complex dialogue and one of the most intriguing themes in all of film history. I have yet to see a more quotable movie, maybe The Godfather.

If you don't see Lawrence as one of the greatest films ever made, I highly suggest you watch it again, and again and again, until you get it. The answers are there, though they are not plainly written. In fact, nothing is written...

there is no honor amongst people who don't enjoy lawrence of arabia!
What I enjoyed most from O'toole was that he gave it his all no matter how big or small his role in a project was.
