Hey my Astros Tigers thread mysteriously disappeared. Hope it re-emerges in some form or fashion so it’s ok to actually discuss the playoff series that starts in about 16 hours. HashtagFingersCrossed

He has to die first, and then play at a hall of fame level for at least 15 years. Like Phil Niekro did.

Put Pete Rose in the Hall of Fame and take Freddie Lindstrom out. 1,750 total hits? Are you kidding me, Freddie? Gtfoh.

Yeah, I don't understand that ****. Just let us have a thread about it already. Not everything has to be an "official" thread.

Oh it’s a very regulated message board. There’s no silliness or buffoonery or need for moderation at all. Please donate here.

love a lot of the people I’ve met here but blown away that the only real moderation comes when an Astros fan starts a thread about a playoff series that starts around lunch time tomorrow. Then someone shows up to shut it down. The other crap nah

Pete Rose and Tony Gwynn were two players that I absolutely respected and was in awe of in the box when I was a child. Modern stats may paint a different picture, but for my money there were very, very few other players in that era (Carew, Brett, etc) that you'd want at the plate when you just needed a knock. There was no way to shift against them or pitch to deficiencies. Those two were just on a different plane when it came to getting hits. Much respect and RIP to the Hit King.

Your sport isn’t being run properly if the greatest living hitter (Bonds) and the greatest living pitcher (Clemens) both are exiled from baseball.

Baseball should be celebrating Bonds and Clemens like they did Mantle and Aaron and Williams and Mays.

Pete Rose was a massively charismatic player - his passion and love for the game really stood out. He should have been constantly on television and in discussions and not marginalized to signing baseballs at Motel 6.

Baseball has serious issues with promoting players - Trout will soon be forgotten… Ohtani should be the biggest athlete in the world. Judge is limited to the NY market.

Bonds - McGwire - Maddux - Clemens - Ryan and Bo Jackson should be drug out there all the time

Sorry, but Rose, Bonds, Clemens, McGwire, ARod, all did it to themselves.
