I really grew sick of standing in grocery store lines and seeing this guy exploited on tabloids during his finally days. Must be a great feeling to have the paparazzi falling over themselves to snap pictures of you because you look like crap because you're dieing. Oh well, RIP.
It feels sudden even though I (or we) felt or knew something was coming. I will always remember him from the tough guy roles he had in "The Outsiders", "Red Dawn", and "Road House" from my early teen years. "Dirty Dancing" pretty much took over little girls for a long while there. The guy may not have delivered Oscar-caliber performances...but he carved out his own niche in Hollywood using his talent in acting and dancing. He will be remembered and he died too young. Rest in peace.
RIP Swayze. At his height of course there were a handful of area people that claimed they're related to him . Maybe in bad taste but I chuckled at this movie reference fail Underrated Patrick Swayze Films
Really sad about this. I really enjoyed the characters that he played. No matter how monotonous and one-dimensional Keanu Reeves' Johnny Utah character was, I still watch Point Break every time it comes on. Swayze did a great job in that movie! RIP +
I also liked his character in Donnie Darko. Sucks that he died. We're only about 3 years away from a complete cure for that cancer he had (pancreatic).
City of Joy was one of my favorite movies back in the days I didn't even realize until today that he was a fellow Houstonian Rest in Peace
One of my "guilty pleasures." I love Point Break and have it on Blu-ray. The surfing scenes are amazing. Swayze was terrific. He made Reeves look pretty silly in comparison.
If you are a Swayze fan be sure to watch one of his earlier films called Red Dawn. It's extremely kick ass. Almost good enough to forgive him for making Ghost and Dirty Dancing. RIP.
