Ed Davis was dead in the water once they figured out Kufos could play with ZBo and Gasol. Kufos is just better. Conley is not a supstar but he could be an All Star this season. Only those bolded are better than Conley THIS season. An argument could also be made for Bledsoe.
You made a thread declaring Memphis dead and then started backtracking in less than a week. You're quite capable of assassinating your own predictive skills.
Are you going to address what I wrote in my responses to you or not? See here http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=8436962&postcount=61 and here http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=8440198&postcount=79 Also, you need to improve your reading comprehension skills, the title of this thread is in the form of a question. Thanks in advance.
You work so hard at trying to appear to be a level-headed grizzlies poster. Let's get something straight: Westbrook and his 41% shooting is not better than Conley. Is he more athletic, sure. Does he draw double teams, yes. Conley doesn't draw double teams. How Conley helps out by getting easy shots for his teammates, is with his threat of driving and his motion. He uses craftiness rather than raw freakish athletic ability to get things done. If you want to say that you'd rather have the freak, fine, but don't tell me one is better than the other, because 41% shooting tells me otherwise. A case could be made for Curry, but I think that until Curry plays defense then he can't be better than Conley by only scoring 20 a game to Conley's 19 a game. Tony Parker is probably the only player (especially with his pedigree) that could be better than Conley, so I won't argue one way or the other except to say that Parker's numbers are way down this year. And Bledsoe, as good as he is, is still just a bowling ball running a team. His understanding of running a team is pretty low at this point in his career.
The other thing I want to say: there's Chris Paul, who is tier 1. And everybody else. People love to lump Deron Williams, Parker, Curry and others with Paul and call it tier 1. That's a joke. Chris Paul is the only superstar point guard in the league. Nobody is even close to him. Everybody else is tier 2.
My biggest criticism of Paul is that he has somewhat of a consistent issue where he struggles against certain opposition pgs, Parker and the Spurs have a tendency to disect him (other than a cpl games in November when Parker wasn't healthy last year, it has gotten quite ugly at times), Russ has started to get the better of him, Deron before he got fat and lazy used to as well. On Westbrook (well other than having no preseason so still being a bit rusty), one thing that needs to be taken into account is he is forced to create an incredibly high amount of his scoring off the dribble, other than his 3 pointers, he has very few shots that are assisted, and it's by design (Durant while still elite at self creating, his efficiency off the ball is godly, up around 1.5ppp off cuts and catch and shoots). Honestly for a guy relied to basically self create everything, his efficiency isn't that bad (even with the brain fade moments).
Not a Grizzlies fan, but hoping they win tonight, as Golden State is half a game ahead of us in the standings.
So Memphis is now playing just fine, while Toronto is sinking steadily towards the lottery. Still proclaiming that Memphis can't do anything without Rudy Gay, Kwame? Still on your anti-SABR orgasm over the 3-5 small sample size, which has been rendered irrelevant in just a week?
Artis the troll, good to see you, I'm still waiting for a response to the issues I raised in my previous post directed towards you in this thread. However, unlike you, I won't avoid questions, even though we all know that you're just trolling. I never made any proclamations in this thread. I simply asked a question and its led to a productive debate minus you and a couple of others. You can interpret my comments any way you want, but based on your post above, you're wrong as usual. I'm happy for the Grizzlies, in particular Z-Bo (he's one of my favorite players), and their fans. They deserve a much better product than what management has provided. Also, your same argument about sample size can be applied to their recent play, especially considering that teams like the Lakers and Warriors were missing key players. To be honest though, I've been entirely too busy picking winner after winner in the NBA gambling thread. It's funny how people like you, samfisher, and meh won't dare show up in that thread.
LMAO, the anti-SABR troll has his agenda invalidated and his arguments totally debunked in less than a week and now tries to move the goalposts and backpedal furiously so he can somehow declare victory. How are Rudy Gay and the Toronto Raptors doing, Kwame?

A source said first-year coach Dave Joerger is safe, although Grizzlies brass is starting to wonder if they made the right hire. - Marc Spears
Man that's rough if joerger gets sacked, it's not his fault they put a team together with no shooting Outside of miller and then lose their franchise peice who just happens to be the reigning defensive player of the year and catalyst to their play. But it's all joerger's fault isn't it SMH
