    RIP,

    3rd grade class mates at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Daly City, a suburb of SF; they then went their separate ways and re-united as teammates on the Oregon football team.

    John Robinson is the other guy, who coached at USC, the LA Rams and UNLV

    Wow... that is very cool. I didn't know he was from Daly City... I was raised in next-door South San Francisco.

    For all we know, he probably has been dead for a long time. o_O

    It was always cool to me that he refused to fly.

    Vin Scully is a Hall of Fame broadcaster for the Dodgers---spanning 7 decades---from 1950 to 2017;
    he had also work for CBS broadcasting NFL games, where he interacted / teamed w Madden & Summerall

    I attended his Hall of Fame induction (if you ever have the chance to attend an induction ceremony in Canton, GO). As much as I hate the Raiders, I always appreciated Madden. When "Coached a Team to a Super Bowl Win" is, at best, third on your list of what you're known for; you've lived a pretty full life.

    RIP, John.

    It was insane that it took the "Veterans Committee" to vote him into the HOF.
