Just trying to convey the idea that he was the one who confirmed Lennon was dead and pushed the word on. Couldn't give a literal, verbatim recount of the story. Thanks for the clarification.

I'm not the biggest Beatles fan out there (although I do have all their studio albums) but there is no denying Lennon's place in history. The man was absolutely a legend and the way he was killed was one of the MOST senseless things ever. It always makes me sad but angry too when this day comes because we should always remember him and what he did for music but at the same time, the scumbag that killed him gets recognition too which is why he killed him in the first place.

He has parole hearings every 2 years and his latest one was in September of this year and he was denied. I don't care how much he says he has changed, letting this man back into society presents all kinds of risks to not only him, but to Yoko Ono and the rest of the Lennon family. As rimrocker said, it is very doubtful that he will ever get out.
RIP indeed. A hell of a guy all around. Its a bad day for music. Lennon, and Dimebag Darrell, both taken way too early on the same date.
Very sad. I watched some documentary on TV that was really good. It showed everything Lennon did his last day. Was basically in the studio, had a conversation with his 5 year old son over the loudspeaker about "go to bed, Daddy loves you, and see you when I get home". They caught a lot of Lennon conversation on those studio tapes. Yoko and some other guy...all they did was play every one of those studio tapes for hours on end (like a full day) until they went through them all just a day or two after Lennon died. Yoko said it felt like he was still in the room. All he did was be so nice, sign this guy's memorabilia, ask him if he wanted anything else, turned his back, and that same guy shot him. Completely unreal. I wish Lennon wasn't so approachable...or he would still be here. But, that's the type of person he was. Unfortunately, it drew everyone who wanted something from him to his door step basically. It was well known all you had to do was hang around and wait for him to come home from a day in the studio. They should have killed the guy who shot him on the spot. I'm surprised other fans didn't pummel him to death.
"A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality." "God is a concept by which we measure our pain." "I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?" GENIUS.
My old boss used to be in a cover band in the 70's and they toured the midwest and east coast. He told the story of their guitarist running into John Lennon in an elevator. He was freaked out when he realised who he was and then says to him "You know we jammed together not too long ago", Lennon asked him where and the guy says "well, you were on TV and I was on my couch playing my guitar with you"
