Really rip this guy cant even play 50 games a yr anymore. I understand he used to be a stud but thats like putting old tires on a new car.
He seemed unable to stick to the court his entire time with Chicago, short of needing a veteran for the locker room I don't see how he'd be that much of a help for the team. I'd rather try to resign Garcia.
Do folks realize that at this stage of his career, Rip only shoots long 2 pointers? Not exactly a great fit for Morey's system.
Would be interesting to see JR's sister come to Houston and beat up some more Chinese fans while JR mentions again how Lin's contract does not sit well with other NBA players.
I don't think people get if we do get Howard we won't have any room unless we do a sign and trade. If we don't have any room the only players available are dleaguers foreign players wanting to come back to US and old vets. Now maybe Morey better options than Rip but if you Francisco is resigning for the vet min or even the 2 mil exception we have think again. Are best option is to Sign and trade for Howard and keep our mle and bae. That would mean LA has to agree to that and word is they won't do it but they usually all do. If we did a sign and trade of Garcia for Howard and toss in a 1st plus the huge exception they get, that might cut it. And the advantage for us is big because we get to keep Greg Smith and Ohlbrecht and company and we can now use the MLE to lock down Canaan and Kostas to 3 year deals and bird rights plus we might still have the remaining 2-3 mil left from the MLE to sign another player and 2 mil from the BAE also. All of that allows us to fill the roster and we may only need one old vet to fill the roster.

My friend I think you might be on to something.....we could then slide Garcia to that defensive 3 that can shoot and move rip to the 2. Good Morey move for the right price.I think he has more in the tank.
