Yup. I just saw the Cars and Coffee episode last weekend. He didn't seem like he had any illness whatsoever.
Loved his sense of humor. RIP. TMZ is reporting massive heart attack... alive when he got to the hospital...
Literally just shouted at the screen reading this. We only stayed at Holiday Inns growing up, so with Showtime that made Bob Einstein and Garry Shandling some weird kind of vacation treat. Not that it's a genuine paradox but how do the Mel Brooks, Sid Caesar, Milton Berle and George Burnses of the world practically live forever?
http://www.nydailynews.com/entertai...-health-funeral-dying-young-article-1.2576993 You have to watch Garry and Seinfeld in their Comedians/Coffee episode ... so oddly relevant.
This was classic Shandling still at peak on cars and coffee. “I had a hyper-parathyroid gland that was undiagnosed because the symptoms mirror the exact same symptoms that an older Jewish man would have,” he said. “You know, lethargic; you get puffy, you get heavy,” he continued. “You kind of realize you want a divorce even though you’re not married.”"
One of the most underrated comedians. Always loved his humor and TV shows. One of my favorite opening "monologues" on SNL <div itemprop="video" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/VideoObject"><iframe src="http://player.theplatform.com/p/NnzsPC/widget/select/media/guid/2410887629/b77216f4175250d3a688fe9505bdef36" width="480" height="270" frameBorder="0" seamless="seamless" allowFullScreen></iframe></div> Thank you for all the laughs
Always loved him and remember this song fondly <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8cWbkWTYwTw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Terrible news. Garry was way too young to leave us. A truly brilliant comedian. I have The Larry Sanders Show on disc. It isn't enough. :-(-
