She was 62. Her spokesman, Paul Bloch, said Fawcett died Thursday morning in a Santa Monica, Calif., hospital. Her 2 and a-half year battle with cancer was recently depicted in the television documentary "Farrah's Story." She burst on the scene in 1976 as one-third of the crime-fighting trio in television's "Charlie's Angeles." A poster of her in a clingy swimsuit sold in the millions. The actress left the show after one season but had a flop on the big screen with "Somebody Killed Her Husband." She turned to more serious roles in the 1980s and 1990s, winning praise playing an abused wife in "The Burning Bed." Fawcett's television documentary detailing her battle with anal cancer was produced in part by her longtime boyfriend Ryan O'Neal. O'Neal recently said that he intended to marry Fawcett, his longtime companion. They had one son together, Redmond O'Neil. Fawcett was married once, to actor Lee Majors, from 1973 to 1982.
Apparently the leading cause of Anal Cancer is contracting HPV through anal sex. start talking about it about 1:25 in: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3o2X-ptz8gU&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3o2X-ptz8gU&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
RIP to Ms Fawcett and may the good Lord comfort her family and friends in this time. (Dare I say the news about Anal cancer will lead to number of ladies refusing to partake in "Anne Hathaway"?)
you guys remember when she was on letterman...never forget... RIP i hope her husband and son patch things up at the funeral..
RIP. It is sad that her son chose bad decisions that put him in jail and didn't have a chance to say goodbye to his mom.
His father is Ryan O'Neal and his mother was Farrah Fawcett, he was destined to make poor choices... you can't change DNA.
That is scary when someone who most likely had access to the best treatment in the world still succumbs to cancer at a relatively young age. RIP
That's the scary thing about cancer. Sometime thos who get the best treatment still die, and sometimes people that get basic treatment go into remission.
I'm not sure if it's true, but according to Dr. Drew, she originally turned down chemo because she was worried about her her and opted for some unproven treatment.
