Christopher Plummer Dies: Oscar Winner & ‘Sound Of Music,’ ‘All The Money In The World’ Star A True Hollywood Legend https://deadline.com/2021/02/christ...c-all-the-money-in-the-world-star-1234688379/
Just saw that, damn he was always a favorite of mine.... Being a Trek fan, I was always a huge fan of his General Chang in Star Trek The Undiscovered Country....
Yep. Got to see him on stage a couple of times, just a fantastic actor. His Sherlock Holmes movie is solid, need to rewatch that and The Man Who Would Be King someday soon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_by_Decree https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_Who_Would_Be_King_(film)
Ah ****. I was just telling my wife a week or so ago after watching Remember what a great actor he was at his age. That sucks, we're running out of guys like him much too fast.
he called The Sound of Music "the sound of mucus." he hated that film. OP should swap out the photo for another out of respect for the dead. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/05/movies/christopher-plummer-dead.html here's another pic
I just watched him in "Knives Out" the other day...which I thought was a very good film. I also enjoyed him in the ST film, "Dreamscape", and "A Beautiful Mind". I was just reviewing his filmography on IMDB and he was in a ton of films. It really is mind-blowing. He will be missed. RIP I've never seen "The Sound of Music" outside of that stupid Julie Andrews scene singing "the hills are alive with the sound of music" or whatever. Blah. I don't like it.
He was pretty much drunk during most of the filming of SoM. If you watch closely (I know because this is my wife's favorite movie) you can see his eyes are bloodshot during almost every scene.
damn rip. sound of music is one of my all time faves. glad i had it on vhs as a kid and now my kids watch it. i may have memorized the whole movie though it's ironic that plummer hates that movie
“Watching ‘The Sound of Music’ is like being beaten to death by a Hallmark card.” https://nypost.com/2021/02/05/here-are-five-of-his-most-memorable-roles-on-the-silver-screen/
He didn't like Sound of Music for a variety of reasons. His singing parts, including "Edelweis" were actually dubbed over. He was a very good musician. Here's a piece that really displays his singing ability.
